Pupil made to leave class by drag queen for disagreeing with notion there are 73 genders

Just when you think you've seen it all. Apparently the Department for Education has been contacted for comment:

"Sex education has been suspended in Isle of Man schools after a drag queen allegedly told 11-year-olds that there are 73 genders.
The Isle of Man government has launched an independent review of its personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) curriculum after parents raised the alarmm_ about the “graphic, disproportionate, indecent presentation” of sexual acts and different gender identities understood to have been taught in lessons.
Parents of pupils at Queen Elizabeth II High School in Peel, on the Isle of Man, have reported that Year 7 pupils were taught by a drag queenn_ who told them there are 73 genders.
When one “upset” child responded and said “there’s only two”, the drag queen allegedly responded “you’ve upset me” and made the pupil leave the class.
Some 11-year-olds at the school were taught about oral and anal sex, while another group learned about sex change operations and were shown how skin graft taken from a girl’s arm could be used on an artificial penis, according to reports.
“A lot of children are just too traumatised to even talk to their parents," Eliza Cox, vice-chairman of Marown Commissioners, told Energy FM Isle of Man. “As a parent, you don’t know what children are being taught.”
She said that one teacher on the island had told her she had to teach a group of boys and girls in Years 7 and 8 how to masturbate. Another teacher was said to be so uncomfortable with the content of the PSHE curriculum that they told pupils: “Please don’t listen to me” while they taught the lesson."

Bloody hell.

Former teacher here. No words. I couldn't go back to the profession. Poor bloody teachers being put in this situation.

Remember when we know how important it was that kids felt able to talk to a teacher? A percentage of those kids are already abuse survivors and will be retraumatised by this kind of behaviour from adults they are supposed to be able to trust.

Who wrote that curriculum ? Normally they are broadly in line with UK curriculums, that's ridiculous.

What on earth is going on?! This has to stop. When I found out about sex change operations on women I almost vomited and i'm over 50 - those poor kids. Why is a drag queen in school?

Who needs teaching how to masturbate? I knew by the time I was 4 or 5 that certain ways I could touch myself gave me a lot of pleasure. As for anal and oral sex, do eleven-year-olds need to know this? What on earth is going on? I have grandchildren this age and stories like this worry the hell out of me.

It's not clear even from the whole (paywalled) story. Under the England rules, this would fall foul of the non-statutory guidance which basically says teachers have to be protected from things that would cause them distress, too. But I agree it's hard to think of how any nation could have thought this result was the right one, going on what's reported about this incident.

Dd is 9, nearly 10 and I’ve received an email telling me they are doing sex education this term. I’m very patient and open with dd. If she asks questions, I’ve told her as best as I could in a child friendly way.

Im hoping, whatever they talk about at school, that she can come and talk to me if it bothers her. I’ve told her she can. That if anything worries, confuses or upsets her, talk to me and I will help where I can, but it’s easier said than done.

I wouldn’t be happy with a drag queen teaching my dd these things though

Those kids who arent already survivors of actual Abuse are being put in an abusive situation by this. 73?? FFS!

Surely teachers - all professionals - should simply 'as professionals' be resisting all this gender woo/dodginess. Ditto doctors, social workers and all the other professional groups who have failed to act appropriately and ignored safeguarding.
If parents cannot trust teachers to not inflict inappropriate content on their kids in the UK or in any democracy, all kids should instead be home-schooled for their protection lol.

Teachers are supposed to act 'in loco parentis'....the very first time a teacher was asked to impart ridiculous knowledge that they would not have wanted their own kids to hear, they should have refused and done something appropriate instead...that is their actual safeguarding role.
Being complicit in allowing the wrong thing to take place means you are responsible. 'I was only obeying orders' really does not wash when you are 'in loco parentis'.

Grooming in plain sight....I would be very looking closely at all those adults involved if I were SS/police.

I hope the parents make a complaint and that every teacher involved is disciplined. There is absolutely now way that things like this should be happening anywhere, let alone in schools.
