Hello I understand dinosaurs now but what's with all the cheese talk?

Hmmm I think it might have something to do with datun, our new over lady.
Or boiled,
But really it's just our juvenile sense of humour, better than my usually very dark humour, so I'm running with it.

Cheese and feminism has always been a partnership for good of all! 🧀🧀🧀🧀

nilsmousehammer · 25/02/2023 16:55

It's the new goddess of feminism, appointed yesterday by a passing activist. She has the power of turning weetabix to cheese.

Really, what's not to love?

And it's considerably more sensible than many of the other matters, headlines and politics that women on this board are forced to engage with on a daily basis.

jeffgoldblum · 25/02/2023 16:55

A fondue of nature!

monomatapea · 25/02/2023 16:57

Oh right so you are genuinely talking about cheese? It's not code or something. I mean I like cheese but don't know much about feminism sex & gender.

I saw something about brie..?

Plasmodesmata · 25/02/2023 17:09

OP it started on this thread, which is long, and starts off being about Kellie Jay's police interview but then ends up being about cheese.

Hello I understand dinosaurs now but what's with all the cheese talk?

The good ladies on here were discussing KJK/Posy Parker as she had an appointment with the police yesterday. As there wasn't much happening, and we don't know what the interview was about the posters on here started talking about this and that including cheese, so everyone joined in on the joke. A few moments of solidarity if you will.

In addition KJK, who apparently used to post on here until she was banned, put up a tweet to the ladies of Mumsnet on twitter with a melted cheese in homage to her supporters on here.

It’s just cheese- but I give it 5 minutes before Twitter is calling it a right wing, transphobic dog whistle.

Helleofabore · 25/02/2023 17:15

Because we love cheese. And even posters we disagree with on some things love cheese. It is a unifying experience!

Whey are you asking?

Because it confused me and I felt like I might be missing something in code but no, it's genuinely cheese. And why not, everyone likes cheese.

Datun was accused of being our new leader (or guru or sotin) and Boiled (iirc) was genuflecting so long she couldn't get up so asked for gin and crackers to be brought down there. And cheese.

Boiled was fine, she got up Caerphilly.

"maybe mumsnet needs a cheese board"

Genius.

IwantToRetire · 25/02/2023 17:40

Sometimes it feels that on a long thread that has been important, time crucial or whatever, that when that moment in time ends nobody wants to stop the communication.

Sometimes it feels like we almost need threads that are a bit like an end of term, or whatever, letting your hair down, and go a bit wierd.

And, just to be really boring and a party pooper, means that when addintional information about the actual issue is posted it gets lost or not seen, because those not interested in partying Or cheese) aren't checking into the thread.

Maybe it could become a thing. Post thread debriefs, a chance to relax and have fun.
