Kellie is still getting harassed by TRAs it seems. Come and support if you can at Trowbridge Police Station, midday on 24th Feb.

She asked for carrots this afternoon to help pay her legal fees and she is close to 5 and a half already, more than the 3 she needed urgently. What a woman.

I am still - and by this point I'm so punch drunk very little surprises me - gobsmacked at listening to a black woman standing on a bench outside of a police station, reading messages off her phone from activists who have called her a 'coon', a 'sambo', told her if she came to Liverpool again she was dead.

The police had no interest.

Posie however.....? CPS considering the case.

Giggorata · 24/02/2023 13:28

As someone said on the live feed, for every woman there, there must have been 50 watching who couldn’t, but wanted to be. Me, for one.
I am reminded of Greenham common and the strength (and singing!) of women.
Go KJK and the rest of us.

The stark difference is very concerning!

thirdfiddle · 24/02/2023 13:30

That's what the police officer was quoting on the call Kellie recorded at least.

Me too. Interesting Liverpool reference, there are at least 2 very unpleasant TRAs based in Liverpool.

nilsmousehammer · 24/02/2023 13:32

If a woman can experience racial abuse like that (she also mentioned two incidents of pictures of monkeys and gorillas being part of the racial abuse messages) and death threats and the police don't care?

But they jump to a woman saying things that may be too offensive to a trans person?

The hate crime laws are not hate crime laws, they are now something else entirely, and they work for a particular group of men and against women.

thirdfiddle · 24/02/2023 13:29

Thank you, I was getting totally lost!

PronounssheRa · 24/02/2023 13:34

What makes it worse was the hate crime stuff was introduced in a large part in response to the Macpherson report.

ArabellaScott · 24/02/2023 13:35

'(1)A person who uses threatening words or behaviour, or displays any written material which is threatening, is guilty of an offence if he intends thereby to stir up religious hatred [F6or hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation].'

Laws only for he/hims.

I suspect they might not have been so nonchalant if a) the recipient of those racist messages was standing in any other social context, particularly in the likes of a #BLM protest; or b) had she not been a woman.

How easy would it be to make the law non-gendered? A quick find and replace he with he/she or even a singular they. I guess it'll only happen when transwomen make a fuss.

the event concluded with a rousing rendition of

ArabellaScott · 24/02/2023 13:19

Be ironic if they'd have to misgender KJK to charge her for that. The law is all 'he'.

Indeed!

Can you tell me a bit more about this incident, please? Links, names etc. I'm in Liverpool and it is therefore of particular interest

Are you thinking of Joss Prior?

Who might the other one be?

BordoisAgain · 24/02/2023 14:40

Harrop?

You could watch the video?

KittyKlaws · 24/02/2023 14:41

The hate crime laws are not hate crime laws, they are now something else entirely, and they work for a particular group of men and against women.

Indeed, they are very much looking like a stick to beat women with and keep them in their place. They certainly don't seem to extend to the rest of society as women, like the one receiving (apparently unproblematic) racial abuse mentioned above, have discovered.

You've said you are going to ignore me but at the risk you don't and take this as the help it is intended to be - if you watch the video linked earlier in this thread you will hear the black woman speaking herself.

Best not to name names monitors will be all over this thread.

There have been threats sent to a few people over the years from people claiming Liverpool links 'I know cocky Warren, doncha know'.

It's unhinged but not everyone in Liverpool is as unpleasant as these.

NotHavingIt · 24/02/2023 14:48

BordoisAgain · 24/02/2023 14:40

Harrop?

I should think he is keeping a low profile since his disciplinary procedure.

Wise advice @PronounssheRa.

So, the CPS is 'still' considering if there is a case.

They're probably loth to drop it, whilst wondering how they can, with minimum egg on their collective face.
