Wasn't there an attempt to discipline him for us "toxic masculinity"? I think I read that in a couple of news reports and more than one person thought the fake breasts were part of a plan to annoy the school board and get them to sack him so he could take them to court for discrimination.

This latest development shows us that men can have different motivations for mocking women and that school board's in Canada have made a rod for their own back.

I can't wait to see how extreme thing have to get before they realise their mistake.

Why was this ever allowed in school? He’s not even hiding under the trans umbrella?

He’s not hiding but he’s completely covered by the trans umbrella. This would have been dealt with on day one if it wasn’t for trans.

Day one: “no sorry you can’t come into school looking like that go home and dress appropriately or you’ll be sacked”

The trans umbrella not only attracts predatory males, it then protects them and prevents them from being dealt with.

Also it’s irrelevant whether or not this man is a troll or a pervert. Same damage is being done.

PaterPower · 18/02/2023 08:17

I don’t know about the toxic masculinity / looking to make a point bit - has anyone any proof of that outside of a couple of unverified Twitter posts?

I’ve read other tweets which asserted that the whole “he’s trolling to make a point” spiel was a TRA attempt to disown him.

Really, who knows (other than him)? He chose to go sky diving in the wig and prosthetics, which can’t have been easy, and he’s been seen outside the school wearing them. Other people who declare themselves trans switch ‘presentation’ on occasion.

picklemewalnuts · 18/02/2023 08:23

"Also it’s irrelevant whether or not this man is a troll or a pervert. Same damage is being done."

Totally.

Dylan, I think, has fallen for Dylan's own story. I can imagine it being quite addictive in the same way plastic surgery is. He's fallen down a rabbit hole. I don't read him as malevolent, just with that (some) gay man's tendency to overlook the actual full personhood of women.

This chap, however, is a full on toxic bloke, just in a different mould to the ones we usually see dressed as women. I mean, the misogyny and narcissism are still there, but he's not confused about his identity imo.

FrancescaContini · 18/02/2023 08:23

@MeanCanadianLady Can you ask for your title to be “re-worded”? Agree with PPs that this man is not “dressed as a man” but rather that he’s suddenly lost his comedy 🤔 voluminous breasts.

IncompleteSenten · 18/02/2023 08:27

Bloke forces children to indulge his fetish.

Well, colour me flabbergasted.

Is that really necessary? The title actually neatly encapsulates the whole madness. We all know what the OP meant. If we get into a purity circle of all policing each other's language, that helps no one.

JellySaurus · 18/02/2023 08:31

I don't see why this changes anything. There is no rule AFAIK that trans-identified people have to be consistent in their presentation. Take P Bunce, for example. Surely Lemieux's response to any accusations of dishonesty would simply be counter-accusations of transphobia and discrimination because he is being expected to meet a stereotype?

What a bag of worms the Canadian government has created by legalising, entitling and protecting trollish behaviour.

ArabellaScott · 18/02/2023 08:31

Believe it or not there is more than one cross dressing male in the same area of Canada who wears prosthetics like this, although the other one doesn't seem to do it in public. It looks absurd because it's supposed to, but these things are on sale because there is a demand.

I think if someone has a personality disorder coupled with a fetish it can be very very hard to comprehend or believe their motivation. I'd say especially for women, who seem to almost never develop paraphilias.

Paraphilias can certainly involve a desire to humiliate oneself and do ridiculous things to attract opprobrium, disgust and shock.

They also tend to escalate.

LizzieSiddal · 18/02/2023 08:33

I expect The Guardian to highlight the fact this poor transwoman does not feel safe walking the streets as his real authentic self, and JKR and Janice Turner are to blame.

ArabellaScott · 18/02/2023 08:38

'It is not transphobic to demand Lemieux lose some cup sizes before teaching impressionable children, according to the submission of transgender woman Julia Malott at a special hearing of the Halton District School Board on Wednesday'

There we are, the only issue is the size of the breasts, apparently.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 18/02/2023 08:45

VikingVolva · 18/02/2023 06:50

She's wearing pretty much the spring "uniform" at our school gates

Didn't realise were were all men

No wonder "let clothes be clothes" struggles to catch on.

I mean I don't take my breasts off when I wear tracksuits. It's a him not a she.

How many transwomen do you encounter? I'm a lesbian and many of the formerly lesbian groups I've been a part of for years now have men like this in them — men who are getting a kick out of disrupting and trolling women because they can. It's a power play, designed to make women uncomfortable and helpless to do anything about it.

knittingaddict · 18/02/2023 09:00

picklemewalnuts · 18/02/2023 07:23

We don't know yet, I imagine one day we'll find out his motivation.

I think he's being awkward, trolling people. The initial walk up and down was getting his courage up, working out what the reaction was going to be.

I think he's doing it to annoy the authorities, wind up whatever school grievance he has, and generally point the finger at woke culture.

I don't think it's a fetish.
It's still abusive to those children, and a disgusting parody of women.

I can't imagine any man would do this to make a point. I think it's exactly what it looks like and making excuses for him is bit naive to say the least.

pursudebyablackdog · 18/02/2023 09:00

Oh the breast aren't under the red jumper; if you zoom in you can see the nipples in all there prosthetic glory...since when did women start wearing breasts over their clothing? Surely if one really believes one is a women one would want to emulate them? I mean surly one would just want to blend in? And why does one need to mess with pronouns when one can use one...anyone?!

Sounds much more likely.

Agree.

title is fine - this dude uses woman as a costume and thus sets the precedent that man can also be a costume.

Disappointingly he’s still gonna be covered by the trans umbrella - he can just claim gender fluidity a la Pips Bunce. Be fun to watch the school board squirm some more though!

SinnerBoy · 18/02/2023 09:04

Take P Bunce, for example.

Philip Bunce admits that he's just a part time transvestite. He was still happy to take the Business Woman of the Year thing, however.

shouldhavetakenmorenotice · 18/02/2023 09:06

Lamelie · 18/02/2023 08:03

He’s trolling. The school had called him out on toxic masculinity last year and now he dresses as a woman at work to highlight the ridiculousness of self id and gender fluidity.

This - fascinated to see where it leads. I'd imagine the kids he teaches think it's hilarious.

Not sure it helps the cause though. Still reeks of misogyny - convincing woman costume = massive boobs and long blonde hair Confused

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 18/02/2023 09:16

To me, the breasts dont look like breasts they just make him look fat!

ArabellaScott · 18/02/2023 09:26

I've seen no evidence he's trolling. The transwoman quoted in the article says he's just wearing inappropriately large prosthetics that are usually worn by 'sex workers and drag queens'.

So ir seems his gender identity is just as valid as anyone else's - the only problem people have is that the prosthetic is too large.

SinnerBoy · 18/02/2023 09:29

There are quite a lot of photos from the school and none of the kids in them look at all happy.

So although according to Stonewall PB is trans, if he says he's a part-time transvestite then he is not covered by the UK EA2010's definition of 'gender reassignment'. Though clearly he and his employers think he is!

I wonder which of these views - Stonewall or EA - the Canadian Govt has enshrined in law.

ArabellaScott · 18/02/2023 09:37

'he says he's a part-time transvestite then he is not covered by the UK EA2010's definition of 'gender reassignment'

How is he not? That definition is so vague as to be totally meaningless.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 18/02/2023 09:45

Presumably this is a contributing factor to ‘transvestite’ falling out of use and nonbinary/ gender fluid becoming more popular. The latter two are ‘identity’.

If you look at the r/nonbinary sub it’s mostly blue haired teens with a smattering of what looks awfully like old school middle aged transvestites.
