I know the whole transgender thing causes a lot of debate on Mumsnet. I’m not looking to stir that up here. But, regardless of where you stand, I think we all have to hand it to Gen Z for managing to freak out older generations so effectively.

Boomers spooked the Silent Generation with their love of rock n roll and the counterculture of the 60s.

Gen X framed the Boomers with acid house and rave.

Millennials were kinda lame as ‘hipster’ was little more than irony and beards.

Millennials and Gex thought they’d seen it all and were cool and tolerant.

But then came Gen Z who decided to disrupt the traditional thinking around gender. And all hell has broken loose. Gen X who thought of themselves as seriously tolerant have been massively freaked out!!!!

You have to hand it to Gen Z!!!

the word identity just means the qualities about you. Your looks, your age, your sex, your moles, your personality. Everyone has an identity. Nobody needs to change their identity nor conform to anyone’s else’s ideology. You can’t create new social identities to make a group or collective out of it. It’s all just another form of religion to control people. Divide and rule and ensure everyone conforms to compelled speech and no free thinking.

for that reason alone it is regressive not progressive. Powerful people can’t control the masses through religion anymore so now they are trying this.

is just manipulation of minds. You think if you label someone as being intolerant it sets them out as being not a nice person and others will conform to your way of thinking because they are scared to be labelled as bad like that person. The buzz word of the generation is “cancelled”but the true meaning is “silencing”.

we’ve already seen this throughout history in various societies, religions and cults.
It helps sell an ideology and ensures people are kept quiet.

In Afghanistan now the Taliban is keeping women in their place by using organised religion as their tool. In developed societies that tool has been obliterated so the only way to keep women and girls controlled and silent is to give them a label as phobic. Being “phobic of men” is never going to work so they have to label them as being phobic of men in some other way, so that they can get access to their vulnerabilities and exploit them. You know the old saying “ if you can’t beat them, join them”. This is exactly what’s happening here.

all of your posts demonstrate this. You see this as a competition to get one over on women. A challenge to be won. You love seeing women freaked out and outraged because you hate them. You don’t have coherent arguments, as any objection raised you can deal with it by using a put down name. Nor do you care if it is the right thing for society or for the entire female population. For you it is about the winning and seeing women put in their place.

Rather than being cool and tolerant I put it to you that gender ideology isnt good for society at all and is actually a form of womanphobia.

It isn't Gen Z, it is millennials doing this. This popped up big time in the 2010s, maybe more so from the second half onwards (especially if you look at children presenting as trans). In 2015 say how old do you think Gen Z were? Gen Z are just growing up in an age of social media where this ideology is being pushed, but it is being pushed by other people and because they are gullible kids they are just taking it for granted.

But kudos getting so many replies for what is hardly more than trolling.
