Raised the issue of Katie Dolatowski, and got her quite rattled trying to get her to justify her comments about transphobia and racism. The vitriol towards Nicola Sturgeon is too, and I don’t understand why, because a) the law hasn’t changed, the media have just decided to start reporting on this stuff (and anyone with any sense knows why) and b) the Act in Scotland was voted through by a majority of cross-party MSPs.

It wasn't for a want of trying that the law hasn't passed - yet. As for a majority, 150 years ago, a majority of people thought that malaria was cause by nasty air, hence the name. Further back, people thought that the Earth was flat.

Those ideologues who voted for the law and who voted down the amendment to prevent rapists from being placed in prison with women are worse than reprehensible and fully deserving of all the anger and mockery going their way.

So @clarabell are you still standing by your position that violent male rapists belong in womens prison and Nicola sturgeon was right to allow this? Ok.

See, it's not even the abusive transwomen rapists and other sex offenders that are the main focus of my anger here. Abusers gonna abuse, I guess.

The main focus of my anger is the political parties (not just the Scottish government, and not just the SNP) who are facilitating and enabling such abuse, and are gaslighting victims by saying it wouldn't/couldn't/doesn't/didn't happen.

It's obvious that some transwomen (whether pretend transwomen or real ones, if we can even differentiate) are violent predators. If we are going to say, "Oh, it's only a minority, we'll deal with them case-by-case," well the same is true of men, only a minority are violent predators. So shall we just allow all men into all women's spaces? And if not, why not?

On a local Facebook page, at least three residents have had their recycling bin not emptied because wrong items were in it. They have all stated they will just lob it all in the black bin from now on.

I thought the point of recycling was we all do it imperfectly or a few recycle properly. Annoyingly as the bins were out on the street waiting to be collected, someone had gone along that street randomly getting rid of their own rubbish in these residents bins (is CCTV footage)

I can't say I blame any of the residents, we try our best, are stymied by a random person and then have to fix it. If it happens to me, I'll probably react the same.
