Our detractors accuse women standing against gender ideology of whipping up a bad faith moral panic. Normally they are wrong but in this case they'd have a point. It’s a bit weird to do it now when online shops/home delivery is so popular! Would’ve made sense 10 plus years ago when people could drop off used bottles in the same trip as buying groceries.

My local Tesco has had one of these machines for ages but it rejects bottles bought anywhere else and I can’t remember whether a particular 2l vimto squash was bought at Tesco or Quality Save so we only ever used it once and had to bring half the bottles home again 🤦‍♀️

Has the Scottish scheme got anything in it for elderly/disabled non drivers? Surely they don’t expect those with mobility issues to schlep their empties? What about very rural areas?

It does make me fear for the poor TW who choose unisex names. One of the ones who wanted to go to a woman's prison called himself Alex when he magicked into a woman. @Sugarfree23 there is a big cost reduction for councils; local authorities in the back of this scheme are justifying a big reduction in kerbside collections (general and recycling waste only being collected once a month is being talked about) further curtailing of recycling centres and reduction of staff.

Our recycling only gets picked up monthly anyway. Honestly if they make it more difficult people will endup chucking stuff in the black bin.

Just thinking about the bottle stuff, does this include jars? If not, when is a bottle a jar? And if so, does this mean all jars will get 20p added to their price? Budget range pasta sauce? Baby food?
