Ah it was a brilliant day. A few of us from the Communist Party Women's Commission were there and have submitted some articles that should be appearing soon, and hopefully the Star will take them after.
My autism is useful for singlemindedness for sure (as is Babdoc's, it's hereditary after all!) and for caring about and knowing about these issues in the first place - I relate to those kids in GIDS a lot, and when I hear the ghouls talking about evidence that a kid is trans, I just hear a description of things I did at their age. Tearing off uncomfortable clothes, not fitting in with peer group etc. Mermaids even said in a presentation that an autism diagnosis could be a sign of a kid being trans. It has taken a lot of practice and study to manage though, and I'm still not great at socialising: I think I fangirled too hard and scared Glinner a bit, poor fella, I got his autograph and was like "and here's mine!" hands over contact details. It sounded a lot more smooth in my head, but then so does everything I do, I've made my peace with being an awkward get by now.😳 They're all legends, that lot, I was really surprised that any of them knew who I was! Mostly for the daft Days of Boyhood channel rather than the autism or communism stuff, since it is mostly other group members who handle the autism stuff now - there's 700 of us and some brilliant people among them, including Alexander the dinosaur guy, Stef the mod and Isla Mac of Parents Against Gender Ideology in Schools. And met even more fantastic people on the day! I like to think we all helped bring down Sturgeon. Looking forward to the next one.
