'Breaking' - Transgender rapist won’t be imprisoned in Scotland’s all-women jail, Nicola Sturgeon tells MSPs

Excellent news.

And Sturgeon has really shot herself in the foot here (again). Because if she really thinks 'trans women are women', why is she not allowing this 'woman' to go to a female prison?

So therefore she knows this person is not a woman.

So therefore she is being transphobic...

So now all transwomen that have committed rape are excluded from female prisons - because NS says, blanket statement, rapists cannot go to women's prisons.

So what now about transwomen who have committed domestic violence, kidnap, coercion, financially targeted only vulnerable female victims, sexual harassment, all crimes that prove they are a danger to women?

I want Nicola to slide all the way down this slippery slope!

Well no I guess not, and I'm not suggesting she's actually got her head round it finally, but she's been forced to stand up and say, effectively, "OK fair cop he's not a woman".

The Scottish Prison Service makes decisions on the most appropriate location to accommodate transgender people in our prisons on an individual basis after careful consideration of all relevant factors, including the risks to and from the prisoner. Those are operational decisions.

Of course this makes sense, but it's transphobic according to the TRA lobby. What matters is that we get clarity and proper statements from the leaders of Scotland about what the fuck they're trying to do and what a GRC allows. If you are going to make it a matter of public policy that you understand the need to evaluate the risk from a trans prisoner, then that means you understand that trans prisoner is trans, and has not changed sex. It's important therefore that all trans people's true sex is clearly known, so we can adequately look at those risks. Otherwise the above is meaningless.

Reality, logic and reasoning have a way of smoking out and exposing lies. Sating a TW is a woman is not compatible with a real, genuine protection of women's rights and this is how it will be forced to play out.

Did anybody listen to R4 World At One? At some point between 1:15-1:30pm they were interviewing a lady who used to be in charge of a Scottish prison. She observed that, whilst NS said the rapist wouldn't remain at Corton Vale, this dis not rule out them being transferred to another women's prison in Scotland (apparently there are a few).

She also said that they have had issues with male prisoner in the femail estate.

As im concerned about wording , corton vale is due to close in the next month or so and all female prisoners moved to other prisons , so is this rapist being moved with the female prisoners or being moved to barlinnie ?

This seems much more SNP weasel wording - yes he will be held in a women’s prison. But I hope the TRAs don’t spot the slippery ness of her statement so she has to publically comfort them, that of course she meant he would be held in women’s prisons, rather than try and sneak it by unnoticed.

According to NS and all the GRR supporters, no man would transition for any but the purest reasons, driven by a deep emotional need, and, the new GRR won't have any impact on any one else, but will only be a bit of admin allowing the most vulnerable members of socieyy to live and die in dignity, as their true selves.

She said Cornton vale.

Hopefully pressure will be put on her to clarify that he will be moved to a men’s prison as that’s a very woolly statement atm.

Well, well, well. I can't wait to see how this plays out.
If rapists don't belong in a woman's prison and only men can be rapists ... then Nicola has just outed herself as a TERF.
All the Scottish defence lawyers will be hastily pushing for rape charges to be downgraded to a different sex crime so their abusive clients can still try to creep into the women's estate.

Part of this was quoted on Radio 4 this morning. The it feels like an outbreak of common sense
