Excellent news.

And Sturgeon has really shot herself in the foot here (again). Because if she really thinks 'trans women are women', why is she not allowing this 'woman' to go to a female prison?

So therefore she knows this person is not a woman.

So therefore she is being transphobic...

it says that there would be men allowed to serve serve their sentence in women’s prisons if they’ve had surgery or not committed a sexual crime or if a government Minister orders it. I don’t find that reassuring at all.

Out of interest, how are the trans rights people responding to this? Are they still committed to TWAW in any circumstances and determined to argue that this rapist should be in a women's prison, or are they keeping very quiet /distancing themselves from a situation where a rapist decides to become a woman while awaiting trial? i.e. are they supporting all transwomen, including rapists?

They are stating he is not true trans.

Ffs all this time saying if we say we are, then we are. Now they cant backtrack fast enough.

Slightly off topic, I did change my username at an apt point in time.

Corroboration makes it extremely difficult to prosecute rape or DV, my solicitor basically said the only way there was any chance of getting a prosecution was if there was more than one complainant.

I am so sorry @Ameadowwalk . I am sorry you didn't get justice. I am aghast that this is the law in Scotland. It is incredibly discriminatory against DV and sex crime victims, the vast majority of whom will be women. I can't believe the SNP are expending all their efforts on bullshit, while serious crimes are going un-prosecuted because of this procedure.

I commented on one of the earlier about what he'd been doing pre conviction... he's not safe in a prison but pre conviction he was wandering around being "accepted" as a woman and he'll probably do the same after release

Asking for clarity about where this rapist will be imprisoned is a non-starter. The whereabouts of any prisoner should not be public knowledge for safety reasons.
There are many men in male prisons who identify as female, that is not unusual.

To add another slant, where should men who rape men be imprisoned?

As this is fwr not aibu or elsewhere on the site I guess i can say
That's a man problem to solve, because here in fwr we centre women. The cunty type.

It's great that people are seeing this about "Isla" but this isn't a one-off. Maybe we need to be reminding people that "Katie Dolatowski" the now trans identifying male who sexually abused a 10 and 12 year old and was convicted for same is still held in Cornton Vale. He is 6'5" and fully male bodied.

People are what they say they are. Unless it is someone that they really can't many people to believe is who they say they are. Then of course they are not who they say they are.

Only a tiny proportion of rapists are convicted. What about the rest of them?

A man who has had is genitalia removed remains a man - he is a eunuch.

He may not be a sexual threat but he is still a physical one, and an offence to women's dignity and privacy.

I think she misspoke - I’m sure I read elsewhere that it had been confirmed that the rapes would be recorded as male crimes.
