That decapitate terfs sign

Not sure if this has been discussed here yet but on wombling through my Twitter feed I found this picture.

Why on Earth would any venue so happily trumpet their involvement with this?

And I fund the black bloc - and it's fucking scary how much real bile went into this.

I hope some one sensible is taking note. This can't go unchecked - can it?

Someone put at another thread that signs had been donated to Glasgow Women's Library(?). The evidence artifacts presumably will be used to patch the roof until they can get a man in. I know the place is all twaw, but surely this crap holds no interest.

Should make it very easy for the police to find the evidence then.

But I bet they can't find the signs when they check through social media and the library.

So much sunlight - the Mail, the Times and the Telegraph all have articles showing this - which hopefully makes it more difficult for the Stonewall captured police to do their normal "nothing to see here" approach.

Boiledbeetle · 22/01/2023 19:57

I hope every time one of the politicians photo is needed for an article that one with the decapitate Terfs sign is always the one chosen.

Is The Merkin also archived in the Women's Library?

MiladeeBeserko · 22/01/2023 21:52

The Merkin is going to end up in The People's Palace with Billy Connolly's Banana Boots.

MiladeeBeserko · 22/01/2023 21:54

Well...actually, it should be the right sort of place for them, to be featured in a display about the horrible threats against women and their rights.

JustWaking · 23/01/2023 04:03

Great to see that the Times article doesn't make excuses or minimise protesters calling for women’s rights campaigners to be decapitated..

But I'm disappointed at how the stickers investigation is described.

We see biased treatment by the police, where slogans saying things like 'domestic violence kills' are treated as a hate crime whilst signs calling for women to be murdered are not.

Whereas the Times framed it as 'both sides are as bad as each other' by not actually saying what the stickers said. That's really misleading reporting.

They did kind of touch on the preferential police treatment later in the article by telling us "Scottish police chiefs recently ordered an action plan to build links with the transgender community amid concerns over a lack of trust in officers."

Was I the only one who thought: lack of trust!? Bloody hell! How much trust do they think women have in the police right now??? Thankfully no one Trans has been raped or murdered by police officers recently. I don't think it's the Trans community they need to build trust with! Confused

ArabellaScott · 22/01/2023 12:47

Yes, it's being investigated by Police Scotland.

Agree, I thought it a week article - this was MSPs being photographed in front of hateful signs inciting murder of women at a transactivist rally.

Oooh! Interesting possibilities about the baby faced personage holding the sign. Image is behind a paywall and I can't find formal confirmation. But he is a SERIOUSLY unpleasant young man - only 19 too!

And if it is the person it's thought to be then 100% that man is not a terf. But an actual threat.

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 23/01/2023 17:20

Absolutely! Very scary!

But, as I said, I haven't found anything real confirmation. So no names, no pack drill. Let's keep this a fair and clean.

OP posts:
IcakedefargeIam · 23/01/2023 18:13

I don't know why but I was able to read the article. I'm not going to mention his name, but there was associated with the person who was allegedly holding the sign. He was taken to court for nasty behaviour towards a female hotel worker and something about a murder in Levenmouth, a man was killed, early last year. But only sketchy details, he may have been cleared.

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 23/01/2023 18:23

On bail, pending, apparently. Again not confirmed.

NorthernLights2023 · 23/01/2023 18:52

I didn’t realise it was him who might have been accused of murder as well.

I’m tired of politicians pretending they can’t see the anti-gay, anti-woman hate that they have stoked

I don't think they've been looking very hard have they!

GailBlancheViola · 11/05/2023 13:11

I doubt they've looked at all let alone very hard.
