Why on Earth would any venue so happily trumpet their involvement with this?

And I fund the black bloc - and it's fucking scary how much real bile went into this.

Izzard, like Graham, is a man. Izzard does not have a GRC, which is currently the only way he could justify using the women's toilets. So if you think Graham shouldn't be in the ladies then you should accept the fact that neither should Izzard. I look at both and i see 2 men.

That sign is horrifying to me because I am a woman in Scotland who has listened to males saying I should be 'throat punched' because I don't believe that a male has the right to access women's single sex spaces.

It is credible because there is history of violent males threatening women, attacking women, and intimidating women if those women stand up for their rights.

Anyone minimising this, or trying to derail with some utterly unrelated event, are complicit in supporting the silencing of women, which is tantamount to supporting VAWG.

Merlin, much as I find your posts irritating, I would like to believe that you don't think this is a good thing to help support. Please confirm that you don't support the minimisation of violence against women?

I agree all threats are wrong and should be condemned, but I would question if the "decapacitation" threat is credible? I mean, does that person really have a guillotine and are they really going to drag it all the way to Glasgow's Buchanan Street?

However a 6 and a half foot man threatening to enter a woman's toilets to drag a woman out by her boots IMO sounds like a very real and credible hate-motivated threat that should be taken seriously by police

Well, the Police are (ineptly) investigating the 'decapitate terfs' sign, they don't seem to think it's a joke.

Yet you want the police to spend their resources tracking down a sign with a cartoon drawing of a guillotine on it that didn't directly name anyone.

I wouldn’t count on the minimising to stop to be honest. I mean, eventually even they will be cornered and will have to stop the dismissing of violence against women … this time. Then it will start again afresh next thread.

But even when faced directly with the facts, as demonstrated here, those followers of the ideology who are sufficiently extreme, just won't acknowledge them, or divert or distract. They cannot and will not face the realities that are uncomfortable and do not fit with their faith. They will never 'see' them or be able to face up to them.

Which is why someone of this ideology is not a suitable person to be in a position of responsibility: you cannot have believers in selective reality who are unable to cope with facts in jobs that require capacity for fairness, public service, responsibility, compliance with policy and law, or impartiality. This faith is not compatible with it.
