1. Probably because of all this, the Telegraph have uncovered some well dodgy educational materials being produced by Tate Galleries.

And I am now looking up Linda Stuparts projects and trying to make sense of this word smorgasbord:

The project conflates different discourses around objects; those of the art object, an object oriented ontology (via Speculative Realism), sexual objectification (via second wave feminist conceptions of the male gaze, queer theory and post-feminism) and the psychoanalytical object. The project proposes that a new ethical and aesthetic position may be gleaned from making and writing contemporary art from specific positions of objecthood.

A non-division, or absence of relation; voiding of distance, which I propose as the post-critical empathetic exchange of objects, is played out through my practice, which enacts a non-division between writing and making; experimenting with intimacy, embodied critique and realisms without representation

Thematically, the work situates my ‘self’ as material – working with strategies of confessional, critique and fictional writing and image/object production in relation to other kinds of materials and in particular relation to productions of images, art and art worlds.

Drag Queen Story Time is only defendable if you don't accept that Drag Queens is adult entertainment. It's not rocket science.

Female strippers are mainly hetero but we wouldn't have Stripper Story Time.

Not bigotry just common sense, not the kiddos fault that their grown ups can't tell the differenc.e.

I posted this talk with Helen Joyce earlier in the thread, but here it is again if anyone would like to hear what she says at about 45 minutes into the discussion where she explains a bit about queer theory; goes on to say why DQSH is intended as indoctrination of children into transgender ideology; why it isn’t just the same as panto, and why parents might go along with it

Just checking in to see this event is still due to take place. I feel for unwitting parents who may decide on a half term visit to the Tate with their children and stumble on DQSH pop up.

I urge you to watch Barry Wall who deconstructs queer theory in this vid. He promotes Helen Jones and gives a view on the extreme motivations behind QT and draws parallels with other critical social justice movements.

Name changed as I've ranted at the tate kids twitter in the past - they have form for inappropriate stuff for kids.

An otherwise really good educational film on Grayson Perry and how he makes his pots includes an image of their Perry pot which has the image of a bound and gagged woman on it.

I wouldn't feel comfortable using it in secondary let alone upper primary, which I feel it's aimed at.

I too would recommend watching Barry, who has suffered professionally from his stance against queer theory creep into our institutions and schools. He is really informative, with an amusing take to boot.
