Article in Unherd by Mary Harrington about 'transmaxxing', a phenomenon in which young men transition because they can, not because they have dysphoria but in some vague hope of having sex with sympathetic women.

It's reminded me of Ollie London, who assumed that just because you can do something (in his case have surgery to make him look Korean) it's okay. No ideological awareness, no ethics, just a why not? kind of attitude.

Under what circumstances do you think it is permissible to say "I reject your asserted trans identity as simply being made-up?"

I think the suggestion is that women are not capable of discerning which males are 'joking' and which are in earnest about 'being a woman'. So we should wait for a male to judge and instruct us accordingly, yes?

How about, are Dylan Mulvaney, Canadian fake boob teacher and Karen White all equally authentic transwomen - do you believe they all have some kind of 'female brain ' in their masculine bodies? Do you think a man who has surgery, takes hormones and spends years perfecting make up, womanly mannerisms and feminine clothing because they experience severe body dysmorphia is equally a transwoman as Alex Drummond who ( rather patronizingly) thinks he's 'broadening the bandwidth of what it means to be a woman' by wearing a skirt, having a beard and knowing a bit about car mechanics? Should all or any of these people be considered women, no different to the sort who were born with wombs and ovaries?

Yeah. I always have laughed at that.

At 15/16 I was pulling my car apart with the help of a DIY manual and cleaning the spark plugs with my dad's farm tools. I used to put on some unisex trousers and brogues and a t-shirt and head to the nightclub with my mates (yes... underage but music good and no money for alcohol so was fine). Still a female!

Alex Drummond has no fucking idea what being a 'woman' means. Alex is one walking stereotype of a male who thinks they act like a woman without understanding they are just a fucking stereotype of a male's perception of what 'broadening the definition of woman' is. I think Alex needs to meet more interesting females outside the bubble they live in personally.

The thing with this transmaxxer idea is, once you allow one man to say he's actually a woman, it becomes discrimination against other men to say they can't say they're a woman too so there really is no cut off point from sensible to utterly ridiculous or plain old dangerous, from full time to part time to just trying it out for the day. ( And we can't have discrimination now, can we?)

I really am interested to find out whether those who are defending the idea of gender ideology ever reach a point where they say it's gone too far or whether they are SO determined to never be called 'transphobic' that they will literally accept any nonsense to the point that they would be fine with a guy in fetish gear teaching a reception class because it's an expression of his true self.

And wasn’t there that micro-aggression in the toilet discussion that looked like satire that was also serious. The one that said any female who left the toilet after seeing a male in their single sex toilet was transphobic.

Not as far as I have read. Pupils claim to have been threatened with expulsion or suspension if they speak out about this (transphobic dont'cha' know).

Even if it is a hoax to prove some kind of point, it still exposes the ridiculous ideology in all it's glory.

ELO you can easily google any number of links about this person. The Canadian School Board has defended their right to show up to school to teach children dressed like this.
