Article in Unherd by Mary Harrington about 'transmaxxing', a phenomenon in which young men transition because they can, not because they have dysphoria but in some vague hope of having sex with sympathetic women.

It's reminded me of Ollie London, who assumed that just because you can do something (in his case have surgery to make him look Korean) it's okay. No ideological awareness, no ethics, just a why not? kind of attitude.

That manifesto sounds unavoidably male, i.e., what it lists are things the writer believes to be true on the other side of the river where he plans to move. But they have not been there and, in fact, have no idea if all those things will be true. Or any of them.

I don't know how common the pipeline from incel to trans might be, but I have seen several people online write that they transitioned in order to look better and to have more interested partners. Some of those transitioned FtM.

Very young people might place that goal higher than such negatives as possibly health consequences or the fact that transitioning severely limits the likely pool of potential romantic partners, given that their brains have not yet completely finished developing.

I also have spotted a few trans women state that they transitioned because they believed that women are treated better than men, are admired without having to achieve anything etc., and they wanted that. Not sure if they wanted the female chores, the not being listened to, the greater likelihood of becoming victim of social violence, the misogyny etc. - That seems to link to the idea of being able to extract resources from men, a popular argument in the manosphere.

That is the number of people in the forum, not the number of people who have transitioned for the reasons ‘transmaxxers’ supposedly so.

go on - see if you can find me more than 5 ‘incel’ individuals who meet all the criteria of a ‘transmaxxer’ - and from a credible source - not an opinion piece, ‘manifesto’ or a forum. You won’t be able to

So we can't get evidence of TRA incels from an opinion piece or a forum. Convenient given that that's the kind of content they produce. And "manifesto" is an interesting term.

Why can't ELO accept these people for who they are?

Glad you agree with us too that there should be formal statistics on people's sex, and their separate trans identities. We've been campaigning for this! Obviously you wouldn't be able to have a 'credible source' of data unless this was recorded, as you don't accept self-description.

Whenever we get one of these types on MN they always reveal themselves to be far more in agreement with GC women than they would ever admit.

Aren’t these just a segment of those who transition, and just because it might be for erotic reasons doesn’t negate their legitimacy? They fit into the % who qualify as erotic cross dressers under that umbrella.

If members of the trans community don’t like the umbrella, then campaign to update it. Don’t complain to us here for using it to discuss every aspect of transitioned males that demand access to female rights and protections.

You've just reminded me of my very first TW, the boyfriend of my best friend in the early 90s. He earned less than her and hated it. His mother had been a SAHM and had been worshipped by his father for her looks. He had the idea that by transitioning his life could be like his mum's — he wouldn't have to work, sugar daddies would pay for his company and he'd be worshipped. He was convinced that he'd be a more beautiful woman than his girlfriend or me.

But Boiled, we KNOW they ARE trans because they say they are.

I think it is time that trans people accept that they have pushed the rest of society to accept that males can become females for the purposes that these males wish to be accepted. There is to be NO medical diagnosis, no research and nothing but acceptance.

This was always where this was going. It simply cannot be both ways.

Either this group is just as valid as someone else who declares they are trans or society should just stop making exceptions for any male who declares they are female, legally or just for any purpose.

I actually think now is the time for us to just accept the facts as they are now.

Maybe the batshit crazy elements will be that people see just some in the trans community for who they really are, and what those people have forced through this one way narrative. The more I read about trans ideology the more convinced I become that a huge element of it is driven by sexual gratification and pornography. Tbh as a man I have found this thought to be rather uncomfortable because previously I was in the ‘porn doesn’t really do any harm’ camp. More recently i have gone off it and now believe that easy and ready access to porn has done and is doing serious long term damage to everyone - male and female.
