Scottish police use Minor Attracted Person instead of 'paedophile' in report

Chief Constable Iain Livingstone has used the acronym MAP (minor attracted Person) in an annual assessment of the force's work with a European project.

We've all wondered what the + is in LGB and TQIA+ haven't we? Well perhaps now we know. As the Telegraph says:

The term MAP is contentious because child abusers are trying to escape the stigma attached to paedophilia and maintain they should be regarded as a niche group alongside the LGBT community.

Those still pondering and arguing the merits of certain age groups I'd be interested to know how you catergorise / identify the following man

This is the crimes he's committed that I know about, God knows if there are more

when he was 12 he got his first rape conviction for raping a child (age unknown)

When he was 15 he got his second rape conviction for raping a child (age unknown)

When he was 18 he got convicted of murder after he bludgeoned a woman in her 80s to death (I've got to wait until 2026 before the court record is unsealed and I can see if he raped her as well)

in his 30s he attempted to get himself into a position to rape two girls who had gone through puberty

in his 30s he raped a prepubescent child

in his 60s in prison he attempts to groom the youngest prisoners on his block

dying in hospital he is kept handcuffed to a prison officer so he gets his kicks from distressing the nurse forced to give him a bedbath

What do you call this man? Because I call him Steve.

I've quoted your post because I think it's important for people to see the whole list of your abusers crimes again.

Some people may think this is rare and I wish I was surprised about his catalogue of abuse but I'm not. I listen to a few true crime podcasts and it's so common for these arseholes to be given more chances than any sane person thinks they deserve.

I grind my teeth whenever I see threads about rehabilitation for these disgusting humans, it's simply not possible. Someone committing offences of this severity at a young age is highly unlikely to stop and most escalate even after several stints in prison and completing mandatory sex offender programs.

As a society we need to grow up and accept that there are some people who, for whatever reason, are broken and cannot be fixed and we should accept that they need to be incarcerated for life to halt the trajectory of their offending and protect everyone else.

We should resist every attempt to change terminology which sanitises what these people do. They are paedophiles.

I found out a LOT of info after court.

So Steve played the system...

Steve having been found guilty of murder gets sent to a normal prison. He manages to convince them he isn't bad he's mad. So they transfer him to Rampton Secure Hospital. In Rampton he allows them to think their treatments have worked and he's now perfectly sane and reformed and so they release him on a life licence.

Sigh!

Then, bolstered by his ability to do what the fuck he likes and get away with it tells his probation officer he's moving in with his girlfriend and he's going to rape one of the children.

Give the PO his due he tried everything, his boss, social services, the police, the Home Office (because of the life licence) and then in desperation he told my mother

Well you know how that worked out! Nine of the official people, at the time she to the law, could do anything until he raped me. And my mother??? Who know s what the fuck her problem was.

He then also benefited later on from what seems to have been incredible luck when his as it was in them days, paper, Police file went missing at some point and he fell of everyone's radar.

How you check a Police Data base to do a dbs check when the original file is missing?

It was a pig I think for the police to try to sort out his past history when I reported him.

And so at the first court hearing the CPS barrister was most surprised to see the nice security guard he stopped and chatted to most days in his way into court in the dock as the accused. Of course the case should have been held at that court but because of this it for moved, and until the case was over they refused to tell me why. So he was put first even then.

he was never rehabilitated. He conned them.

That doesn’t make sense to say ‘anyone’ though. If a 14 year old is attracted to a 13 year old, does that make them a MAP? There is no room for ‘well use your common sense’ in this, it’s not specific. ‘Person’ does not specify adult or child.
