Sadly, ms Sturgeon thinks these men are doing womaning at an excellent level and will protect them above and beyond the cunty ones.
A complete disgrace.

Namechangeforthis88 · 30/11/2022 07:34

Some people set the bar for women's safety and comfort very low indeed. For me, it is not the case that so long as I am neither raped not murdered it's all good.

I do not accept, for example, that in the course of participating in sport, I will be stripping naked in the same room as a person with a penis. I'm not terribly comfortable with stripping naked in the same room as anyone to be honest but I'll cope with a female. Not an extreme example. Sports clubs all across the land have basic facilities and lack the space and money to reconfigure them. People get wet, muddy and sweaty and need to change all their clothes. The guys are lovely at my club. I've nothing against them. But if they turn up next week calling themselves Maureen, I'm still not taking my knickers off with them.

beastlyslumber · 30/11/2022 07:54

The clapping as she's escorted out makes my blood run cold.

Who knew we'd have a Scottish stasi in 2022.

Waitwhat23 · 30/11/2022 07:57

@tetellyoumysinssoyoucansharpenyourknife

The Scottish Prison Service operate under a self id position, advised as they have been by Scottish Trans Alliance -

murrayblackburnmackenzie.org/2022/04/06/the-sps-review-on-trans-prisoners-a-chance-to-get-policy-making-in-scottish-prisons-back-on-track/

James Morton of the Scottish Trans Alliance is on record as having said that they have deliberately pushed for a self id policy in Scottish prisons so that self id can be pushed into less contentious (for want of a better word) public areas.

No GRC needed. Unlike England.

Unsurprisingly -

www.nationalreview.com/news/transgender-sex-offenders-placed-in-womens-jails-in-scotland/

archive.ph/2022.10.04-232359/www.thetimes.co.uk/article/half-of-scottish-trans-prisoners-changed-gender-after-convictions-pftqbbhg6

www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/scottish-news/anger-trans-inmates-revert-males-25840252 (this is also in The Times but I don't have a share token).

During the recent GRA Committee meetings to discuss the amendments at Stage 2, the SNP, Scottish Greens and Scottish Labour voted against suggested amendments being put in place to restrict sex offenders from changing their gender.

So if the prison system in Ireland is not placing transwomen in the female estate (although I'm pretty sure they still are - Derry and Barbie Kardashian come to mind though I need to look up the details), then yes, in the eyes of the 'true believers', it would be transphobic.

JayJayYoYo · 30/11/2022 07:59

I wonder what ‘trans rights’ she has been supporting for 3 decades?

Musomama1 · 30/11/2022 08:01

Oh god, those eye rolling rubbish women. How absolutely tiresome it looked for them. Depressing reality, handmaidens don't give one shit.

KittensNotMittens · 30/11/2022 08:05

I think the woman’s damming words alongside those womens faces show them up for what they are. Women are really waking up in Scotland now.

PicturesOfDogs · 30/11/2022 08:32

That Twitter thread led me to this little gem

That's Nicola telt.
Whatsnewpussyhat · 30/11/2022 08:37

Still waiting for the TRA poppers to tell us EXACTLY which rights trans people don't actually already have, and why they think it's a 'human right' for some males to access female only spaces?

Nothing but male entitlement and pretend oppression. Angry aggressive men.

Helleofabore · 30/11/2022 08:43

So Mishy didn’t return to explain what human rights for trans people Mishy believed regulars on this board don’t support?

Nor the darvo accusation?

Why am I not surprised by that ? It feels like deja vu.

Because they have exactly the same rights as the rest of us.

Riapia · 30/11/2022 08:53

This perfectly illustrates the quote that I have posted on many threads.

”If freedom means anything at all it means being able to tell people things that they do not wish to hear.”
George Orwell.

MishyJDI · 30/11/2022 03:21

She did say though she supports trans rights so clearly not a true believer.

Nah Mishy mate! As has been said so very bloody often now, nobody wants to deny anyone their rights. We would all support trans people in attaining any rights they do not currently have.

If only someone would list them...

JayJayYoYo · 30/11/2022 09:06

But she says she has been fighting for trans rights for 30 years. Bless her but I’d be interested in finding out just what she thinks she has been doing for 30 years. It’s laughable now!!!

Needaholidaypronto · 30/11/2022 09:16

About time started waking up to her, absolute charlatan. The gender nonsense could be the thing that trips her up, though there’s plenty other failings which should have done.

Wellmdone to the heckler.

Waitwhat23 · 30/11/2022 09:20

I was thinking Limerick, not Derry (stupid of me) and Barbie Kardashian was still, as of reports from July this year, was still housed in the female prison estate. Probably still is.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 30/11/2022 09:20

Transexuals with severe dysphoria already had rights and legal protections.

Now male fantasy is being placed over and above female reality and our rights and protections removed, just so it doesn't burst their gender bubble and hurt male feelings.

Male paraphilias are being pandered to at the expense of women and girls.
Same as it ever was.

Helleofabore · 30/11/2022 09:32

You don’t think she could have been fighting for the rights to not be discriminated against because they are trans in instances where sex shouldn’t be prioritised? Eg. employment, housing.

That trans people shouldn’t be subject to discrimination for being same sex attracted?

The same human rights as everyone else. You don’t think she has been involved in that fight?

What are you trying to say?

What is laughable now?

That males can take roles set up specifically for females using exemptions under the law? That a female trauma victim could request a female examiner and be confronted with a male instead?

Are you trying to tell us that you believe trans people should have the right to be only ever treated as their identified gender?

What are you trying to say?

Skyellaskerry · 30/11/2022 09:36

Another well done and thank you to that woman for speaking out

ArabellaScott · 30/11/2022 09:38

I'm curious about the women at the event who applauded Sturgeon.

Many of them presumably do valuable work supporting women. Who are they? I don't mean individually, I mean, generally - these are presumably women working in the VAWG sector, no? Professionals tasked with protecting and assisting and supporting women? Is that limited to women who have the correct views?

ArabellaScott · 30/11/2022 09:40

This site/page has really useful info on prisons, btw. (KPSS' Kate Coleman gave evidence to the Scottish Government:)

Ok. So you agree that trans people have the same rights as the rest of us?

Don’t you think this women may have been involved in this over the past 30 years? I read what she says as being someone who perhaps fought for those rights along side the rights for LGB people. I could be wrong.

LeandraDear · 30/11/2022 09:59

I have just had a chance to watch this and it is shocking to see those women keep their heads down and even hide their faces with their hands. I appreciate they were there for something particular but it is still shameful.
