If anyone is wondering who I am, if you remember me, I had a Spanish name.

I see there is a post suggesting that the site owner is stressed.

I am refraining from pointing out that being called out for blatant misogyny might do that, but I really want to.

@Ereshkigalangcleg I was wondering but that isn’t enough of a clue for my elderly brain and fading memory.

The silencing of this issue, always has been and always will be, misogyny in action.

You might not remember me anyway Winter, it's been about 7/8 years since I left. A couple of years ago I went back to lurk a bit and read the big trans issues thread from the start, it took me ages. I think I got up to about 2018. But someone said something nice about me on it and wished I still posted, so that was lovely to read.

But, I'm sorry to say that I feel really furious with that place and some of its denizens. I wish I didn't, but a good chunk of the board's response has been disgraceful. I've found some posts hard to believe, they're so extreme.

I have always thought that rather than complete disagreement, I have always just been coming from a different angle - I always consider myself GC and have watched in horror as the insistence on self ID has caused so many issues.

I'm using a combo of the name I used to use on the BBC boards (it is protective in times of trouble) and the name I used on the other place.

I'll go on posting there in places where people haven't been part of the great pile-on, partly out of friendship and partly out of bloody mindedness. I'm glad there are going to be some of the nice men here, but gosh isn't it good to be in a place where the built-in problems of being female don't have to be explained every single time.

I used to feel I wasn't really entitled to come onto MN because I am not a parent, but hope for tolerance.

Absolutely not! There's the odd thread started by a newbie in amazement that some posters are neither mums nor indeed female. They are generally set straight, perhaps in a somewhat forthright manner!

Hello all. I was a (very) occasional poster on MN before the Great Email Hack that meant everyone had to re-register. Never got round to it, so this I'd shiny new me.

Thanks for the welcomes from the MNers who've had us land on them. And although the warnings about robust debate are appreciated, I think we can probably handle ourselves.
