I emailed the CEO of Sainsburys a couple of weeks ago about a Facebook add which kept appearing with Kitty (a man dressed as a woman) telling us women how we should have body confidence, presumably they couldn’t find a woman to discuss womens body confidence.

The add got ripped to shreds, Sainsburys accidentally posted “NFA” when it was pointed out that they probably meant to keep this internal it got quickly deleted.

Eventually they removed the add then reposted and basically got all the same responses.

Today I got a reply internally lodging my complaint - given the obvious signs GI has infiltrated this brand see picture I don’t expect anyone to do anything - another brand off the shopping list.

What does NFA mean?

MsPinkMarshmallow · 24/11/2022 11:21

Fuck them, they're off my list as well then.

ControversialOpening · 24/11/2022 11:32

I'd also like to know what NFA means.

Also, does anyone have a link to the ad? I've had a quick search but cannot find it.

RosalindsAFuckingNightmare · 24/11/2022 11:32

I think NFA means no further action - ie they aren't going to respond to queries/comments/complaints.

watermelonseeds · 24/11/2022 11:35

Sainsbury's is hugely into this stuff, as a corporate employer. That's the impression I get on LinkedIn, and also from the volume of Pride posters etc in the shops all summer.

ControversialOpening · 24/11/2022 11:38

This seems to be about the same story. Warning - Daily Express:

Twizbe · 24/11/2022 11:46

I saw this advert and thought why TF is a man fronting it.

Surely there are so many female fashion icons who could have done this.

Yes as soon as this was pointed out to them they removed the post

That’s not even a transwoman. It’s a drag queen

Birdsweepsin · 24/11/2022 11:59

Oh the irony. Like Kitty's presence is going to make me and my daughter feel less insecure.

Sigh.

You have lost my custom Sainsbs. And I spent a lot there.

So are men allowed in female changing rooms at sainsburys?!

But an oh so clever man is telling you that you should feel ok. And we must do what men say, they know much better than us little women!

Jammy62 · 24/11/2022 12:43

@Boiledbeetle completely agree
@OMG12 wow! Since covid, iv shopped at sainsburys once a month for all the 'heavy' shopping, online. I will be voting with my feet and choosing another supermarket delivery going forwards. Their fruit and veg has been very poor recently too as an aside.

Georgeskitchen · 24/11/2022 12:47

Yes unfortunately sainsburys have been well and truly captured. They announced recently that they have made their staff changing rooms/ toilets gender neutral and won't be entertaining complaints from any staff ( read that as female staff of course) who object to this. There is a link to the Daily mail but I don't know how to post it.
Glad I don't work for them.anymore

Sushi7 · 24/11/2022 12:54

Are Sainsbury’s trying to promote body confidence in women, or men too? The article seems to refer to people in general. I haven’t seen the advert though.

Princessglittery · 24/11/2022 13:04

@Boiledbeetle exactly.

cosmiccosmos · 24/11/2022 13:14

The shame is that Sainsnurys will have a high % of female staff. Numbers so high that they have a lot of power if they acted together. Is they all threatened to resign unless single sex toilets/locker rooms/changing areas were restored. Unfortunately too many just think it won't affect them until Jim from warehouse arrives one day as Janine and starts changing with the women. If I worked for them I would leave over this.

Aquivers · 24/11/2022 13:18

God, they hate women don't they. Signed by a he/him. Fuck right off Sainsbury.

This is the problem, not everyone thinks it through and just goes a long with the narrative. Until you’re stood the in your bra and pants and Jim stands next to you in his pants with an erection with his fully functional male body and you’re too scared to say anything to HR because your employer has made it perfectly clear you have no voice and youre the problem.

God, there will be nowhere left to shop soon. M&S, primark, all the banks. Where is ok supermarketwise? Waitrose is John Lewis (off the list since that appalling advert showing the boy throwing paint everywhere). Is Tesco ok?

Toseland · 24/11/2022 13:42

I've really had enough now, I feel so pushed out of society, I don't have anyone to vote for and all the shops I would usually use have no respect for women. Even my local art gallery is doing 'drag queen life drawing' classes and a promotional video for my town features mainly drag queens. Classes at the local theatre for kids - run by drag queens. I can't even escape it at work, where we have drag queen story time for employee's kids and lunchtime talks on being 'queer'. :(

ErrolTheDragon · 24/11/2022 13:44

What's the point of a treadmill so you can see yourself moving in the clothes if the changing room is mixed sex and you don't feel comfortable using it?Confused
