Hoping everyone is okay.

Thanks.
I also got a PM that the previous post I started was deleted because someone had posted a profile of someone they thought was me. They were wrong.
I am not that hard to find, I have posted a lot of information here about my family so I don't actually care if you know who I am. But it is still not a feminist way to behave.

You were the one linking to JH’s profile.

antelopevalley · 17/11/2022 13:08

Who is JH?

Who is JH?

Jean Hatchet

antelopevalley · 17/11/2022 13:12

Did I link to her profile? I do not remember. If I did it would not be too out to anyone. Especially as I hardly know anything about her except that some women on twitter were saying she was lying about having cancer. Which was a terrible thing to say.

antelopevalley · 17/11/2022 13:15

And that was all over twitter with JH using her full name. It is not a secret some women were awful to her.
Whatever history there might be, that was a nasty way to behave.

Shinyredbicycle · 17/11/2022 13:16

No, I can't clarify anything about the AGCL Facebook group. I looked it up, having seen it referred to in this very thread, and saw that it was a public group with a few hundred members.

Everyone else on this thread seems to know much more about it than me.

antelopevalley · 17/11/2022 13:19

@Shinyredbicycle I think it is because some here appear to think that only a small number of us feel this way about KJK and the far right. So they find a small group of women and assume that is the small group.
They only have to go on twitter to see lots who feel the same way.

Yes, you shared her posting of a screenshot, where someone was referring to a ‘narc grifter’ pretending to have cancer, and she presumed it was referring to her.

You shared it to illustrate what a big meany-bum KJK, and anyone who defends her, is. And as evidence that KJK had been personally rude to you.

JH hadn’t redacted the profile in the screenshot, so it meant a little drama was dragged from Twitter to MN, which I believe led to the thread being pulled.

And it didn’t prove either of the points you were trying to prove either.

antelopevalley · 17/11/2022 13:28

I do not remember doing that although I am not denying it. If I posted it would have been in response to a demand for evidence.

The person who DM me was mistaken then. They said someone had tried to dox me, but from the description of the person it was clearly not me. Maybe they got mixed up with JH? I do not know as the deletion and many comments happened when I was away from the thread.

"It doesn't matter how much you get on your knees and fellate these men, they're still going to steal your rights".

I agree with her.

There's nothing wrong in what she said. It's true. It doesn't matter what you do for these men, you're not going to escape the consequences of this ideology.

Fair enough. Maybe there was a post added to the thread I didn’t see, but it must have been in quick time, because I am pretty sure I was on mumsnet as it happened and that thread was top of my ‘threads I’m on’.

beastlyslumber · 17/11/2022 13:32

Ah come on. We all saw what antelope was doing on that thread.

OmiOmy · 17/11/2022 13:34

As with all these things, it's context. I don't particularly like what she said but I know what she meant.

Part of KJK's charm (being a bit facetious here) is her ability to cut through bullshit and her bluntness. It's very refreshing tbh. Obviously, for those who dislike her it's an anathema.

I haven't rewatched that video, but iirc she was addressing that comment to the female protestors accompanying the males to threaten/intimidate/shout down/drown out Let Women Speak speakers.

Not language I would have chosen, but I can't get very worked up about it.

beastlyslumber · 17/11/2022 13:38

I think policing a woman's speech at an event called 'let women speak' is way worse than whatever dodgy metaphor KJK wants to use to make her point.

Let's also remember that these are not prepared speeches which have been written and edited in advance.

TinaBarrow · 17/11/2022 13:41

Do we honestly think she gives one about what any of us think? I don't like her... but I admire her hugely. And I agree with her in this particular bit of rhetoric.

Like you @beastlyslumber I don't have a problem with that comment and it is true, no matter how much women abase themselves it will never be enough and once the men have got what they want they'll trample all over those who were submissive and sycophantic quicker than you can say I told you so.

We've seen often enough how the TRAs turn on people for the most minor of infractions, how often enough is never enough.

VestofAbsurdity · 17/11/2022 15:16

So there you go I've agreed with some posters regarding that comment and disagreed with others, funnily enough I doubt those I've disagreed with will be marching me off to the gallows any time soon. Bit then that's because the overwhelming majority of posters on this board are reasonable, sensible adults who can cope with an alternative opinion on a comment made by someone else.

Article here on the protests. Quite laughably packed with misinformation - the comments are having none of it.

Both @antelopevalley and @Helleofabore have come to my defense on this board when I've given my opinions, so I consider both of them acting in good faith, along with many others.

As to KJK, well, I think her movement is complicated. She can be inspirational and has a powerful persona and I believe her intent is good. Do I think she's going to make inroads in the U.S. as far as persuading more leftwing women to consider issues of gender ideology? Not sure. Reality in the US...we need leftwing leaders to be persuaded that gender ideology is harming women. Also, abortion is women's biggest issue right now and every argument of 'if you can't name who needs an abortion, then how can you protect it' falls flat when we are literally creating networks of transportation stops, overnight placement and funds to shuffle women across state borders when they need an abortion. GOP blocks legislation and conservatives have already appointed life-term, anti-abortion judges. Sorry, even Biden can't fix that.

What I hope KJK garners from this tour is footage of TRAs in action. They are despicable. They are classic toxic male rage. She draws them out and into the sunlight. Here's hoping sunlight prevails.

However, if I were KJK's PR handler, I'd have needed a couple of drinks after that 'fellate' comment.

Journalism at its finest! Brilliant comments putting the record straight though, thankfully.

Same. I don't get the problem. I didn't have much of an opinion either way, just understood what she was saying.

And yes, she appeared to be addressing the yelling TRAs and the women who were supporting them, just off camera.

According to the Denton report, having women front the protests is a deliberate strategy. Designed to undermine the notion that transgenderism decimates women's rights.

Seeing it in action is frustrating to say the least.
