It's nothing to do with who I do and don't like or approve of. It's another perspective on this tour, which has platformed men. Everyone's welcome to speak, remember.

I am engaging with the actual issues. Sorry that they're not the ones that you want to focus on, but they matter.

If I showed my family eg the NYC video and told them that this was going to help secure single sexed spaces and stop the medicalisation of children they would honestly think I'd gone mad.

lifeturnsonadime · 16/11/2022 16:26

I'm not trying to be difficult but I really don't understand your logic. Do you think that the video of the individual with the moobs chanting hate at women is evidence to support the erasure of women?

Do you think that men behaving badly & being arrested at a 'let women speak' rally is the women's fault ? And this means that women don't need single sex spaces to get away from males who behave violently and don't let them speak?

Do you think that any of this proves that children should be medicalised?

I've read all of your posts and really don't understand where you're coming from.

ArabellaScott · 16/11/2022 16:27

Maria's assailants were anarchists-in-name misogynists,

But the males attacking women in the US are 'antifa' (and also misogynists) - is this not similar?

They wouldn’t be horrified and want to know what was really going on?

That seems very much like entrenched views, right there. And if they judge everything by what media it is on, who else said something at the event and their ‘associations’ rather than what was actually said, and look at women being attacked and victim blame the women, that says a lot about them. And not about Kellie Jay’s ‘tour’.

Helleofabore · 16/11/2022 16:36

“that says a lot about them. And not about Kellie Jay’s ‘tour”

And the reality is, it seems you are describing people who cannot think outside ‘political’ alignments.

They also are then not the people who Kellie Jay has planned this trip around. And they will probably only change their thinking when all the people and media they seem to have outsourced their opinions to change enough to start reporting in the media and start discussions.

It is fine. These events are not for everyone to start from and as an adult, I think we and the people who are organising them understand this.

antelopevalley · 16/11/2022 16:52

So who is the trip for?
Given that attendance has ranged from 10 to 30 people?

why Do you care?

NecessaryScene · 16/11/2022 16:59

I'm fascinated by this comment. Could you expand on it further? What's the connection between those two sentences?

Is there a coherent thought process here, or is this just random non-sequitur sniping?

beastlyslumber · 16/11/2022 17:10

I am engaging with the actual issues. Sorry that they're not the ones that you want to focus on, but they matter.

No, you're not. You're stating an opinion that KJK's events shouldn't get media coverage because you believe people will take the terrorists' side over the women's.

Okay, that's your opinion. It's not an issue. It's not something substantial worth discussing, because the fact is it's hypothetical. I think that people seeing what's really going on is a good thing. You think it isn't. There's nothing really to discuss there, since mainstream media isn't covering it.

What issues do you think you're engaging with? Because all I see is you repeating the same opinion.

Helleofabore · 16/11/2022 17:11

antelopevalley · 16/11/2022 16:52

It was obviously not for ‘you’. And you also didn’t find it.

So what does it matter to you? What harm has it done you?

beastlyslumber · 16/11/2022 17:15

It's another perspective on this tour, which has platformed men. Everyone's welcome to speak, remember.

It's called Let Women Speak. WOMEN. Men are allowed to speak if no women are waiting to speak. A small number of men have spoken at these events but the entire focus of the events are on women's voices. If you watch the videos, you'll see 99% of the time it's women speaking. But you're right that men are welcome to speak if there is space for them. Is that a problem for you?

Kellie-Jay went to the US to get footage for her upcoming documentary and the tras have given her that in abundance letting more sunlight flood in.

Datun · 16/11/2022 17:34

I do find it rather amusing that the people who claim that the trip is a waste of time, there's no one there, what's the point, no one will agree with it, do nothing but talk about it all the live long day.

Happylittlechicken · 16/11/2022 17:36

I know @Datun if they’re not bothered about it, why do they keep talking about it, creating threads on it and generally throwing conniptions about it.

beastlyslumber · 16/11/2022 17:39

Do I care though? Am I bothered though?

(Imagining av and friends discussing KJK)

If it was me, and I didn't want to publicise it, you know what I'd do?

Not publicise it.

Happylittlechicken · 16/11/2022 17:45

Me too Datun. There are loads of subjects I have no interest in on here, but amazingly, I manage not to go and disrupt them by slagging off other people and spreading lies. Maybe I’m more of an adult than I think I am 😂

Very lowering !! 😁

VestofAbsurdity · 16/11/2022 17:51

Quite. Identity politics is a feature not a bug of the Left/Democrats.

You say there is concern due to Roe v Wade, etc., @Shinyredbicycle amongst your Democrat voting family and wider circle - so what are the Democrats doing about it? What have they done? What has the Democrat President done? Biden managed to bring in an Executive Order on his first day in power regarding transgender rights but hasn't done the same to ensure a woman's right to an abortion. Funny that.

That seems very much like entrenched views, right there. And if they judge everything by what media it is on, who else said something at the event and their ‘associations’ rather than what was actually said, and look at women being attacked and victim blame the women, that says a lot about them.

Exactly. As I said feature not a bug. Here's me thinking that the USA was supposed to be a grown up democracy not a childish reactionary one.

Not to worry for all those who think KJK has been "reckless and self indulgent", Actual Gender Critical Left are going to organise something more "sparkly" that makes "people" feel good. www.facebook.com/groups/904109420071073/posts/1498797170602292/

Based on this laughably biased report www.amny.com/news/trans-advocates-far-right-protesters-fight-city-hall/ which if you can be bothered you can comment on.

There you go. Is it you that is going to be organising the 'sparkly' event to lift everyone's spirits then @antelopevalley ?

Can we come and check exactly who is there, take photos and create dossiers to put up on the web?

Can we insist that a background check is also done to make sure that every single person in attendance has never been photographed in the vicinity of some one deemed 'unacceptable'?

Or, would that be considered just rather extreme and motivated by something that is twisted and prejudiced.

Happylittlechicken · 16/11/2022 18:06

I’m kind of getting the impression, and I may be wrong, that the Actual Gender Critical Left are not in fact gender critical at all, and may in fact embrace things gender. Why else would they denigrate women speaking out about our rights, then try to persuade women not to engage in political debate on this matter but sit back, relax, enjoy something sparkly and let them worry about our rights…

That looks like the equivalent of if we all believed what Pink News says about JKR.

If our old friend Lang was here, she would say that the gentry left identify as our Leaders. It's us thinking for ourselves that they find most infuriating.
