So I am told anyway. I can't bring myself to watch it. Has anyone been brave enough?

Can't seem to link to the article. It's in the DM

Educate and Celebrate have taken down their Patrons page on their website

Faffertea · 24/10/2022 06:37

God I hope Eddie Izzard doesn’t see this. Could be the comedy come back Eddie’s been looking for.

bigblueyonder · 24/10/2022 06:51

Only a man would do this-no matter how big the wig, make up and heels this us 💯 male exhibitionist behaviour. The same you see drunk lad's getting their arses out.

Basically a deluded drag queen...

There's a massive difference between the Hayley Cropper type transwoman - probably the most numerous, I hope they find their voices soon - and this cock waggling misogynist children's charity worker who demands to be in the room when your 12 yr old daughter is changing out of her swimming suit.

But there’s no such thing as a “Hayley Cropper type transwoman” - Hayley was played by a female actress.

The reality is that 90% of transwomen keep their penis, so Jordan is actually quite representative in a way that Hayley Cropper could never be. That’s why we’re all meant to believe that a woman can have a penis, because transwomen are very keen to keep hold of them.

She isn’t the first person to get naked on tv and won’t be the last. I don’t think the fact she’s trans makes it any more or less appropriate.

I’d argue it makes it worse if you’re throwing your penis around while claiming to be a better woman than women because you do anal and your tits won’t sag. And they’re not even joking, that appears to just be what they think.

I think everyone is loosing their shit over this and saying how amazing it is because they honestly think this is satire.

So they think it's funny.

But when I hear the lyrics to that song, I know that this is actually what they want mandated in law - that they are women, and better than women (or more marginalised, more vulnerable because they're more feminine or more sexually adventurous and available, maybe?).

Against the political backdrop of what is happening to our rights and what would happen to any female comic doing a GC version of that song, it is even more chilling.

But anyone taking it on face value would think it hilarious.

It is quite frightening.

This.

pinkfondu · 24/10/2022 07:14

The ultimate my penis is bigger than yours isn't it

Live4weekend · 24/10/2022 07:23

It's funny.

When you looked at Twitter on Saturday it was relatively quiet on the TRA side. It was obviously a hot topic but not mentioned in many places. Still moaning about woman having a conference about womans rights.

Now there is a lot more being said. Its almost as if they have now been given permission to speak about how wonderful it was.

Sorry what? Do you think this is a one off or something? Perhaps stick around and learn.

Thanks for the invite to stick around a free public space Hmm but I don’t fancy taking lessons in hostility off snippy forum users thanks all the same.

This is a really interesting exchange. Wasn’t it Trans Media Watch who were behind carefully planting ‘hearts and minds’ stories like Haley Cropper, deliberately using a female actress to normalise and mainstream the idea?

it looks like it seems to have worked in as far as priming society for the next steps that were to come. Iirc they insisted she was played by a woman not a man.

Imagine if Haley Cropper had been played by a man? The public would have likely reacted badly and felt very uncomfortable about it. It would have been much harder to run the story of “a woman with an embarrassing secret” like some sort of health issue she’d only share with those she trusts. If the actor had been a man, the public would have been much more insistent that people have the right to know what sex you are, that your sex isn’t an embarrassing secret, but an important fact others should know about you so that we can keep our own appropriate boundaries.

Oblomov22 · 24/10/2022 07:44

So, in trying to present and claim to be as female, you choose to do this. Which clearly shows you are male. Because you have a penis. Deranged.

EndlessTea · 24/10/2022 07:52

Of course. It’s mainly about them envying women’s breasts and hairlines. It’s not about disliking their dicks. Some rare ones also envy women’s vaginas and vulva, and wombs, etc.

Educate and Celebrate have taken down their Patrons page on their website

What does this mean? Are they trying to distance themselves from the ill judged connection? Just like Mermaids then.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 24/10/2022 08:05

Yes, to liken this performance to Embarrassing Bodies is way off the mark

Totally. It's ridiculous someone would even try to same they're along the same lines. EB was to help people, this man is just there to shit on women.

MrsJamin · 24/10/2022 08:08
I was expecting Jordan to say at least something interesting or funny to a class full of children at Passmores school... How can you say nothing at all in a 5 minute talk to a class? Seems like a bumbling fool with a very strong streak in narcissism.

i think, to be fair, there are very significant risks and disadvantages to removing a part of your anatomy.

The idea that you can surgically alter your body to turn it into the opposite sex is a lie. All of the surgeries that might superficially appear to be doing so have significant problems and cannot reproduce the functions of the opposite sexed organs they’re trying to emulate.

Supposed ‘sex change’ surgery is a really problematic field. Cosmetic surgeries that often produce significant functional impairment, ongoing issues and a life-long dependency on yet more medical intervention (including hormones).

But, the answer there is really to recognise that people are stuck with the sexed bodies they are born with. Getting some breast implants and even taking hormones doesn’t turn you into a woman. And having your penis removed would be a terrible idea.

Of course, all of that doesn’t excuse this comedy act involving flashing male general is and fake breasts. Or the activism to insist that biology doesn’t matter and penises are not by definition male sex organs and so on.

But I don’t think I can actually blame anyone for not undergoing a cosmetic castration. And I wouldn’t encourage anyone to have one. There are very good reasons why all biological males should be keen to keep hold of their penises.

JustJustWhy · 23/10/2022 20:20

Whatever happened to Channel 4? Are you new to Channel 4?

First trans body I ever saw was watching The Crying Game with my Mum. She nearly choked on her cocoa.

That was a quality drama and the 'reveal' had a point and was done sensitively. The two are not comparable.

SlipperyLizard · 24/10/2022 08:15

@SudocremOnEverything totally agree, I think “sex reassignment surgery” is a fraud, and could weep for all the young women getting double mastectomies and boys like Jazz Jennings being so hideously misled into surgery that will never change their sex.

But a lot of public perception is based on the old “transsexual” image, which means someone who has had full surgery and is perceived (rightly or wrongly) to be a lesser threat to women than other men. Once the public realises that the majority of transwomen still have penises, they may be less likely to support their entry into female only spaces.

Of course it is a terrible idea and an utterly barbaric thing to do, but it has been important propaganda to suggest that they all “fully intend to” and that it’s just “the cost”, “the complications”, etc - to propagate the idea that they all hate their penis and would never want to use them, in order to make them come across as ‘harmless victims’ who were ‘born in the wrong body - and not be seen as men who envy women’s breasts, hairlines and desirability by heterosexual men, and who are no less harmful or aggressive than any other man.

If this man had performed in this way on the local high street, surely he would get locked up.

RedToothBrush · 24/10/2022 08:31

Sex change is impossible. 'Sex change surgery' is unethical butchery. 'Cross sex hormone treatment' is even less effective and ethical than homeopthy. Mermaids and Stonewall are vehicles to push unethical treatment to vulnerable people to validate a men's sexual rights movement and to remove agency and status from women. They are sexist, racist and homophobic. They dismiss traumatic experiences and seek to humiliate, silence and further traumatise victims. The whole TRA movement is narcissistic from top to bottom. It's self serving and advocates harm by pushing gender stereotypes whilst maintaining the absolute right to male pattern behaviour to subdegate women.

Whapping your cock out on stage, whilst gleefully singing I'm better than women, look at me, me, me, me, me, me, me could not illustrate the entire shit show in a clearer way on any other 3 minute segment.

Signalbox · 24/10/2022 08:31

Poor chap. It must be dreadful to live feeling as if you have been born in the wrong body. Such a marginalised minority.

GingerPCatt · 24/10/2022 08:34

Can you imagine the outcry, very rightly so, if it was another group being mocked? If a white person put on blackface and rapped about how much they better than black people. Or a Christian dressed up in a hajib and sang how they are better than Muslims because they drink beer and eat pork?
