So I am told anyway. I can't bring myself to watch it. Has anyone been brave enough?

Can't seem to link to the article. It's in the DM

Yes. I think this is very useful demonstration of various things.

So - props to Jordan and may Jordan grace the nation's screens far more often.

EndlessTea · 25/10/2022 19:36

I think it is important to avoid playing into the absurdity by ever using the word TW. The word woman does not describe any sort of man. It shouldn’t be used to.

oakleaffy · 25/10/2022 19:48

These men in drag seem very keen to show their penises at every opportunity.

When I wonder “how did we ever get to the place where a man can get fake breasts and call himself a woman?”…
I realise that the most important lie, was the one about them getting their penises cut off.
People (me included) thought it was so disturbing and horrific and that a man must be overwhelmingly ‘unhappy being a man’ to do it, that we kind of waved through “whatever - just don’t make me think any more about that please”.

Now the cat really is out of the bag.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/10/2022 19:52

I don’t know if anyone has shared this yet:

That's superb. He has such a great way with words and he perfectly skewers the vanity and absurdity while highlighting the more sordid side of all this. I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think of that Ted quote.

Yes. It deserves another post.

Its brilliantly furious and thorough and made me lol.

ArabellaScott · 25/10/2022 20:52

The Ted quote is perfect. O'Neill's writing has gotten sharper and sharper on this issue.

That's a great letter. So much of this has been government funded with zero due diligence. Hence these revelations about the type of people who are working with children in and out of schools - a paedophile apologist, a porn self promoter and a flasher in the last week or so. Presumably the tip of a very big iceberg.

RhannionKPSS · 25/10/2022 23:18

The Baroness is so classy, thank goodness for her.

SudocremOnEverything · 26/10/2022 00:23

’I am sorry you had to read that’. 😁

A biological male gets HER cock out.
Iconic.
The audience was blown away.
What a moment.
What an artistic triumph.
Incredibly powerful message.

OMG. OMG. OMG.
The oppression has officially ended.
I am literally crying happy tears here.

And so are we, dear...

(Endless love & kindness & compassion ensues...)
Happy to be of assistance.

There's a link via that Baroness Nicholson tweet ("I'm sorry you had to read that" is my favourite line!) that has some shocking, really shocking stuff linked in media articles about Educate and Celebrate

'Trustees of Educate & Celebrate remove Jordan Gray as a patron

Jen WattsOctober 26, 2022Blog, News

Following Jordan Gray’s performance on Friday Night Live, Trustees of the charity Educate & Celebrate removed Jordan Gray as a patron.

As far as the charity are aware, Jordan Gray has never gone into schools and the charity have never requested Jordan carry out work for or on behalf of Educate & Celebrate, either in a voluntary or paid capacity.

Trustees of Educate & Celebrate had no knowledge of Jordan Gray appearing on Channel 4’s Friday Night Live until it was brought to our attention via social media.'

YouSirNeighMmmm · 27/10/2022 13:53

Where in the statement is the bit about how they are reviewing their hiring / safeguarding procedures so as to work out how to ensure they never make such an appointment again?

ChlorineChris · 27/10/2022 14:14

Isn't there clear evidence of Jordan Gray in schools, delivering talks? Am sure I've seen the videos linked?

Given the alleged involvement of Educate and Celebrate in the sacking of Rev Randall (awaiting ET outcome at the moment) I can imagine they're not overly pleased to have more of this negative publicity

ArabellaScott · 27/10/2022 14:17

'The charity told The Telegraph she has been removed as a patron following the performance. Julie Bremner, the charity’s chair of trustees said: “As far as we are aware, as a patron, Jordon Gray has never gone into schools and we have never requested they carry out work for and on behalf of Educate & Celebrate, either in a voluntary or paid capacity.”

In an interview in 2016 with Guyslikeu.com, a culture website for gay men, Ms Gray said: “I go into schools to talk about gender as part of a campaign called Educate and Celebrate. Toddlers kind of get it straight away. I went in to one school recently where there was a seven-year-old transgender girl. And her four-year-old classmate, who was a boy, said: ‘Jessie’s a girl and she wants to be a girl. And I am a boy and I want to be boy.’ And that was that! Young minds are very accepting. It’s teenagers who are harder to get through to. To go into a secondary school would be terrifying. But it’s good to educate these kids when they are young.”'

There's a video, linked on the other thread. Apparently, he was invited there on IWD in some other capacity not linked to E&C. I don't see that let's them off the hook though.

Wtf, did he actually do for them then?

ArabellaScott · 27/10/2022 14:26

Video is in a secondary school, I believe. Interview is talking about much younger children and explicitly names Educate and Celebrate.

bigblueyonder · 27/10/2022 16:23

Ffs - after seeing what is going on in Iran right now would it not be better educating pupils on that situation.

They are truly brave women, not these than entitled drag queens with a penchant for heels & make up.

RedToothBrush · 27/10/2022 16:57

ArabellaScott · 27/10/2022 14:26

That comment about a 7 year old and their 4 year old classmate was dead odd.

DH immediately spotted it and went 'bullshit - no class has 7 and 4 year olds in it'. I said that there must be some confusion. And I think a few MNetters picked up on the same thing.

So we have an interview which doesn't make sense and isn't consistent with the official position of the Charity.

Which is very strange indeed.

So has the Charity failed its due diligence? Well yes on striping comedians not being terribly good front for a children's charity. And theres a question mark over whether they were unaware who was going into schools on their behalf or whether they were ignorant of someone lying about going into schools on their behalf. Its one of these two, but we don't know which.

Why lie about what you've been doing in schools with children? Its odd behaviour.
But equally, why on earth is a charity oblivious as to who is going into schools on its behalf?
Both rise big questions.

Either way, you've now got two fails against this charity and the behaviour of one of its celeb patrons and their suitability as patron.

Fieldofgreycorn · 27/10/2022 17:31

Not much gender dysphoria going on there is there.
That’s not what I understand to be a trans woman or transsexual.

inappropriateraspberry · 27/10/2022 17:48

@RedToothBrush Not that I support this AT ALL, but as I said upthread, our small school has reception (4/5), year 1 (5/6) & year 2 (6/7) together in one class, so it is possible for a 4 and 7 yo to be together.
