Is it just me, or are the majority comments online seem to be critical about this performance?
The news headlines on this performance seem to be out of touch with most people & not in line with majority opinion.
I think this shows how "uncaptured" the general public is when it comes to the gender debate & many don't realise the existence of this debate at all.
So when the average person sees something on free to air TV, they feel free to speak their mind, without feeling like they have to censor themselves.
These organisations like Mermaids (ACON here in Aus) can infiltrate organisations, media & government however they like, but if these organisations stop representing the interests of the average person, then this ideology will crumble & become a fad of the past eventually.
This isn't like with gay marriage, where people were strongly opposed to the concept, but once they actually got to know more regular gay people they warmed to the idea because it didn't affect them & gays weren't forcing themselves or their culture onto others.
People are not immediately opposed to the idea of trans people having rights, & nobody is denying the existence of trans people - but the more people actually see & experience the full force of "woke culture" they seem to push back against it.
I think TRAs feel like this is a big win for them, but long term it could be a real misstep to continue shoving this behaviour in people's faces.
