So maybe using buzzwords like ‘accountability’ and ‘consequences’ were his first attempts at a grown up persona with beard-stroking gravitas - and it turned out to be a massive fail.

He should stick to shallow gossip.

Still… the fact he tried to insert JK into his shallow celebrity world when he made those comments about her - when she actually uses her grey matter - is really disrespectful.

I suppose she’d be his worst nightmare as a guest though - reserved, measured and thoughtful. I can’t imagine her bonding with him over toilet humour.

I understand what you're trying to do, but please stop. It's an interesting and important conversation with intelligent input from people and it's annoying and not entertaining or adding anything. Do it on a different thread, a lighter one.

I/he can't be a misogynist because I am a woman/he loves his mum is a reincarnation of the I can't be a racist, some of my best friends are BAME trope and about as credible.

Have you been on Twitter? It's full of them. Usually have rainbows, pronouns, affiliated to greens/Labour/whatever party. All love telling women how to woman.

I believe OP will not be back on MN. You will not the answer to your question.

The wonderful Mr Menno's commentary on GN -" A Gay Man's Response". He astutely observes, it shouldn't be called cancel culture, it should be called compliance culture.

Has he said anything about Mariella and J. K. Rowling? I thought his issue was with free speech.

TheBiologyStupid · 20/10/2022 21:24

Me too. Although the Pythons were very prescient with that scene from The Life of Brian, of course. They thought they were kidding, but look where we are now....

Eighteen Million (18M) people voted Conservative in 2019 because the Leader was Boris Johnson … THREE YEARS LATER … MP’s acted against British 🇬🇧 popular opinion and the economy went into meltdown … Seventy Two Percent (72%) of electors want Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak back at the helm -

BUT
struggling homeowners want to see mortgage payments fall and calm and stability return

AND
as Boris already has a mandate to govern from the British 🇬🇧 people …

WOULD it be sensible to put him and Rishi Sunak back in control and take the fight to Labour and their (Labour’s) announced plan on the 20th October 2022, to repeal the 2016 Trades Union Act and unleash unaffordable wage increases and strikes galore!!

WOULD
you feel happier if Boris was back as Prime Minister and Rishi as Chancellor?

Well, that was odd even by derail standards. Strange username, too, given that AllChangeNow apparently wants more of the same...

I love this soo much.
Getting the edits like Cilla Black in there! 😀
It reminds me of how you can be camp and funny without being scathing towards women. He is single-handedly rescuing gay culture from the misogynists.

So much so, I realise how much all this woman-hating drag and everything that’s being relentlessly pumped into the mainstream has put me on edge. I feel like I need to brace myself when I engage with popular culture.

But Mr Menno is such a relief- spreading a bit of gay joy in the world. ❤️
