Carly-May Kavanagh

There are rumours circulating on Twitter that Carly-May Kavanagh (the one who screams at babies: Daily Mail) has, despite her “apology” been suspended from the Labour Party. Presumably such a suspension would have an impact on her job as Lloyd Russell-Moyle‘s head of policy?

Apparently if she is suspended it [probably] won’t be made public. Given the reason for her [potential] suspension; if Labour actually do take action, you’d think they’d want to reassure people that they expect their members to uphold certain standards. I mean, “not screaming abuse at infants” is less upholding a standard than it is failing to trip over pebbles of basic decency…

Clearly one cannot put too much weight into Random Person Says Unevidenced Thing. However, it would be a foolish rumour to start without cause, so I thought it was worth starting a thread here to see if there are developments to follow.

Should Kavanagh face consequences for her behaviour it will be a watershed moment: Labour acknowledging women have rights all their own, including the rights to assemble & to speak on issues of concern to them, such as their need for single sex provisions.

Women are not fascist by dint of their proximity to random blokes at a public meeting.

We know the GC women who now appear alongside Tommy Robinson on a fascist website are not fascists. Other people may now believe them to be.

I can't be the only person to find this really unfortunate.

This really seems to boil down to the fact that some feminists can't compute or accept that they share the same view as Tommy Robinson!!
And that people on the internet may notice!!

Bad luck, because you do share an opinion with UKIP and most of the Tory party and you can't do anything about it or hide it.

If you were not immaturely wedded to your identity politics you'd be able to tolerate this with knowing agreeing on one issue does not mean aligning with all other views.

This game of Goodies and Baddies, or The Oppressed and The Fascists is ludicrous to most of us watching, and we can see it's exactly the same game fascist baby lady is playing.

MalagaNights · 24/09/2022 23:16

There were fascists there. Lots of high profile people on the far right. Andy Ngo was there for goodness sake.

Andy Ngo is not a fascist and the fact that he's presented as one tells me where you are in this game.

He's an incredibly brave journalist who has refused to back down to antifa and the far right and has paid a serious price for it.

He's committed to following the balaclava wearing thugs that claim to be the righteous moral left wherever they manifest.

They call him a fascist for this.

LK1972 · 25/09/2022 00:13

'Bad luck, because you do share an opinion with UKIP and most of the Tory party and you can't do anything about it or hide it.' - I agree @MalagaNights, pretending that the view that humans can't change sex us some sort of a left-wing project to be defended from 'fascists' is insane!

We live in a country that regularly returns Tory governments, nothing will be achieved by demonising right-wing voters, on this or other issues. Calling people scum and shouting at babies is only being done by one side.

Just catching up on this now. I've never been so glad not to live in Brighton in my life.

I go there to see friends & for the occasional work conference but it’s one of the few places where I’d feel scared to wear one of my Adult Human Female or Wild Womyn tops, unless I was part of a big group. Bristol & Manchester are also on that list.

Signalbox · 25/09/2022 08:21

Bad luck, because you do share an opinion with UKIP and most of the Tory party and you can't do anything about it or hide it.*

And most Labour voters, and, likely, most of the world's population who won't yet have been brainwashed into believing there are over 100 genders.

Clymene · 25/09/2022 08:23

Yes I don't blame you @EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn
If CMK, psycho racist glitter woman, smoke bomber and man with bag of knives are representative of the general population, it's clearly not a place where women who care about women and children's rights are welcome.

Indeed.

I don't think there is any need to get into bed with the far right or defend those collaborating with the far right. Plenty of people on the left / centre / centre right hold the opinion that biological sex is real.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/09/2022 08:57

Anyone who doesn't hold that opinion is a fool.

AlisonDonut · 25/09/2022 08:59

So what we have learned is the best way to silence women is to get men to live stream what they say.

What a conundrum.

i did think that earlier…so many ways

lovelyweathertoday · 25/09/2022 09:20

And most Labour voters, and, likely, most of the world's population who won't yet have been brainwashed into believing there are over 100 genders.

But the official Labour policy is self-id.

Nottingham City Council refused to let Julie Bindel enter a city library purely based on her supposed views on transgender ideology, despite the fact that she was there to speak about violence against women.

The local councillors state that "trans women are women".

The local MPs are vocal in their stated belief that a man who says he's a woman is actually a woman.

This is apparently a hard party line.

It's the left that have completely abandoned women and girls over this.

The lack of dissent allowed on this within Labour is scarily totalitarian.

Sappho, earlier in the thread you called an gay, Vietnamese American conservative a fascist so can you please give us an example of someone who is centre right by your yardstick?

I suspect at least 95% of people who are pointing fingers at ‘fascists’ have lost the ability to discern where the centre is some time ago and it would be useful to all of us to recalibrate the scale back to factory settings.

I would agree that there is no need to get into bed with the far right or defend those collaborating with the far right. But I also don't think that KJK has done that by holding a public event in a park. Obviously you are entitled to view things differently.

It's funny though the thought of being called far right or in collaboration with the far right would once have stopped me in my tracks and perhaps even made me alter my view. I find now, that those words (and fascist / racist / TERF / nazi) have become so meaningless through inappropriate use that I no longer care. So well done for that.

TheClogLady I called Andy Ngo a high profile person on the far right because that's what he is.

How would you describe his politics?

yep

babies are fascists now

there's literally nothing the identitarians can call me that would make me think twice about anything

when you make shit up, words lose their meaning

TheClogLady · 25/09/2022 10:16

He’s a normal conservative, fits into the bigger tradition of gay male conservative thinking journalists, a la Douglas Murray or Glenn Greenwald.

Ngo’s family emigrated to the US from communist country so he has understandable personal reasons to distrust the left (it’s not very nice for gay men in communist countries) hence his personal project of documenting the crimes of Antifa.

Have you ever listened to him speak?

IcakethereforeIam · 25/09/2022 10:17

They don't even know what a woman is! Baby shouter thought she looked good in that get-up and there's enough fascism so that everyone can have some, like when Oprah was giving cars away.

SapphosRock · 25/09/2022 10:20

Oh and Centre right I consider the Tory party, Daily Telegraph, Piers Morgan.

It makes sense to me that sometimes GC feminists collaborate with Conservatives.

Social feminism and the far right have literally no middle ground apart from neither believe men can be women. It's never going to be a happy partnership.

SapphosRock · 25/09/2022 10:09

TheClogLady I called Andy Ngo a high profile person on the far right because that's what he is.

How would you describe his politics?

Can you explain which actions he has taken explicitly make him far right?

Let’s get down to specifics.

Considering yesterdays posts where you have clearly not actually understood some of what you have been using to join in on the demonisation of another woman, who is actually also working to ensure females maintain single sex spaces, I think if you are calling someone a fascist, or far right, I think we can expect you to now be very specific.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 25/09/2022 10:21

Apparently andy ngo describes himself as centre right…no idea how true that is

and apparently everyone is a fascist and right wing and im neither of those things so again I would need evidence/links to probe this stuff…not just someone’s opinion
