Mumsnet and KWF are very different. KWF was/is an attack site. They're great for standing up to some very unpleasant individuals that no one else seems able to deal with, and for exposing a certain dangerous social trend. But they're not a nice bunch, and they're apparently known for harassing people 'in real life'. Mumsnet on the other hand represents a huge group of women from different backgrounds and with different interests, and moderation is strict.

By harassing and smearing every Internet service provider connected to KF in any way, while simultaneously DDoSing the site for days on end, making it impossible for their network to function, and creating technical problems for their providers. Their sheer tenacity was kind of impressive.

Well Kiwifarms really, really hate trans people.

It is also true of other online platforms (eg Caroline Flack).

People aren't defending the site. They are objecting to self-appointed judges deciding which sites can stay up and which must be brought down because they object to the content of discussion on the site.

Posters have explained a few times why they defend KFs right to exist
