They value free speech for its own sake (which means that yes, a lot of unpleasantness is vented there) and many posters have a rather childish delight in busting taboos, which is also unpleasant to encounter for a lot of people. They also value the truth and exposing fraudsters and abusers, which is even more unpleasant for the fraudsters and abusers who proliferate on the Internet, especially those who prey on vulnerable communities.
You don’t have to actually like them to be glad that this attempt to censor the internet failed.
Suggestion: if you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t repeat second hand rumours that have already been debunked on previous threads. There’s a lot of lies out there online, why add to them?
