Like the title says really, I'm seeing it all over twitter today and I haven't got a clue what it's about.

She's calling for racist and homophobic women to join the fight.

And this is meant to be some kind of "ner ner, she's a bad person who has failed the purity spiral test, burn the witch" kind of argument-winning point? About a black lesbian? Obviously, the point she's making that even women who are her polar opposites and/or attackers are also in the sex class woman and should watch out for their rights.

As for this:
Allison herself is the one who said that she is happy to team up with racists and homophobes

Since she specifically said it's not about allying herself with them and that she would still condemn racism and homophobia, that's a ridiculously disingenuous bad take extraordinaire. Do you think people won't notice that kind of obvious twisting?

"Since she specifically said it's not about allying herself with them".

Contradictory because a). she told them to join the cause and b). she invited a number of homophobes to the LGB Alliance conference, so she clearly is.

What's funny about that? I'm sorry I don't even get what it's trying to say.

picklemewalnuts · 20/08/2022 22:20

Oh Lord. The more you guys try the worse you sound.

You are defending obvious, deliberate in your face racist, homophobic bullying and you claim it's ok because she said bigoted women are also affected and need to step up?

You think that makes it ok? You are showing your own bigotry loud and clear. I won't waste any breath on you. You are showing yourselves up, and the rest of your toxic gang.

Sunlight's on you. Wake up.

ScreamingMeMe · 20/08/2022 22:22

Absolutely pickle the DARVO is extraordinary.

AlisonDonut · 20/08/2022 22:25

What amazes me is the purity spiral these guys go down, it really is 'Hitler was a vegetarian and so are you so what does that make you, I'm just quoting what you said, you don't eat meat and neither did he so you must by default be evil and need to be killed'.

Tedious and pathetic.

I think I'm inclined to take the opinion of the black woman the thread was aimed at as to whether it was a racist or not. Allison Bailey clearly read it as such. If it wasn't meant to be, I guess the writer will have apologised by now for the offence caused?

And if the worst thing that Allison Bailet ever did was say 'this affects all women, even those I don't agree with or necessarily like' then bloody hell, the woman is a saint.

ScreamingMeMe · 20/08/2022 22:35

And taking the piss out of a black woman for getting upset about a racist trope, intended or not, is pretty disgusting. Do TRAS not know how to do anything else but double-down and deflect?

BlossomsOnATree · 20/08/2022 22:35

Yes the whole arguing style is like debating with a small child who's trying to say they didn't eat the cake when it's all over their face. You can't believe they're even trying to argue the toss.

Also reminds me SO MUCH of my gaslighting ex who just had to win every point even if he had to swear up was down to be "in the right".

nauticant · 20/08/2022 22:36

Do you think that this might be your most piss-poor performance yet on Mumsnet Hearach15?

You do have quite a back catalogue here but I'm wondering if you might have excelled yourself here.

I'm sorry what?
What buffoonery?

Someone threw a lemon and a Wispa chocolate into Allison's garden a while back, and her dog ate the chocolate (it can be poisonous to dogs). She assumed it was TRAs but found out it was neighbours kids or something.

On the face of it, it may sound silly, but bear in mind Allison was being abused and threatened by TRAs so badly that she had a police marker on her home so she'd be prioritised if an emergency call was made from her address. TRAs had ''joked'' about burning her house down and were threatening to kill her. She's also been doxed.

Topranker calls it 'buffoonery', but what it actually was was an abuse victim in distress and understandably jittery, worrying that the twats had found her home.

Iirc, it was around the time of the WiSpa incident. So I can totally see how Alison saw connotations there.

Who wouldn't be at least a bit perturbed by strange objects appearing in their garden?

But yes, let's all laugh at the woman who will have faced racism and homophobia all her life . What a buffoon!

What childish, spiteful people some are showing themselves to be.

ControversialOpening · 21/08/2022 00:18

I know TRAs necessarily have a very weak grasp of reality, but this might be the weirdest take yet. They are attacking a black lesbian, yet calling those defending her 'racist' and 'homophobic'.

Reality deniers: have another little think

Thinking is definitely not their forte as proven time and time again by the risible bollocks they regularly spout and the even more risible bollocks they purport to believe.

I can't understand how Harris or the Society of Authors think that Harris's behaviour is in any way acceptable. The spaghetti tweets aren't even her worst. She's been laughing along to the same tweeter's "satirical account" of JK Rowling and Kathleen Stock getting stabbed.

twitter.com/Unbeknownst2Jo/status/1560014624728268802?s=20&t=DuGm8bo5mU0V3vAUyw6wlw

Imagine if the tables were turned and Harris was spitefully laughing along and joining in with some twitter edge lord's 'satirical' account of prominent transwomen writers being stabbed or depicting trans people using transphobic tropes.

If Harris targeted her hatred toward trans people, she'd be fired within hours, and we'd never hear the end of how she was calling for literal murder, trans genocide, not wanting trans people to exist and you can fill in the rest......

It's quite clear who has power in society and it certainly isn't feminists like Allison Bailey, JK Rowling or Kathleen Stock.

I learned a lot on this thread.
first: the shocking racism directed at AB.
I did not know about the minstrel food suitcase trope, but now i do. Fucking hell, heads should roll.

second: that Hearach and Jumpkid can’t read, or C/p properly, or understand what they read + C/p - thus accidently making GC points so much clearer to your average lurker.

then they double & triple down on their endeavours to such a degree that I guffawed and snorted and remembered what I really am supposed to do now is to make breakfast!

I am very sorry AB is being put through this shit. AB, JKR and the rest: you are stars!!

Helleofabore · 21/08/2022 08:07

hearache cannot claim to have not known this either, because they posted that link to Allison’s tweet yesterday afternoon on the Ben Cooper and got laughed at for not reading it all and comprehending it’s meaning then.

Plus has tried posting that video from the transitioned male using the female toilets despite knowing that the conference had notified people they were female single sex spaces only as a ‘gotcha’ before to be pointed out the facts behind it. And those facts made it clear that this transitioned male has no respect for female nor for an obviously neurodiverse person either.

We have said this about hearache before, they do much work for those of us seeking to strengthen the rights of females and children against the conflicts from other groups. And not just in the constant live demonstrations at just how intolerant, how inane, how weak and how polarised, totalitarian and ill researched the activist tactics are.

I understand the watermelon and fried chicken as particular US-based racial stereotypes (but I thought this was about food type and not just food in general) but the spaghetti in the briefcase has me stumped and I can't find anything on Google.

I only just remember minstrel shows.

I've googled and can't find anything.

Here's something on fried chicken and watermelon

Did AB have a meal with JKR? I know a group of women got together socially and an Italian restaurant was vandalised because JKR went to its sister restaurant.

Spaghetti is traditionally a white woman's food,

When I was growing up it wasn't. It was what 'continentals' (but my mum didn't call them that) ate (and the racist overtones were that they had greasy skin and stank of garlic).

I have no doubt it was offensive I'm just struggling to see the historical connections here.
