Like the title says really, I'm seeing it all over twitter today and I haven't got a clue what it's about.

The is no racist trope about black women having spaghetti (or any other food) in a briefcase. What a ridiculous thread.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 21/08/2022 09:41

Spaghetti is traditionally a white woman's food

It was, of course, brought back from China by Marco Polo and noodles are also traditional in some regions of India.

Pruella · 21/08/2022 09:41

I have 100% no doubt that Alison has suffered plenty of racism but the spaghetti thing is not a minstrel/ racism thing. Dropping your spaghetti as a meme meaning the person is an idiot is a common internet thing - I’ve never seen it with a particular race angle.

I've found that! Hadn't heard of it before and won't likely think of it again but it has helped me make sense of this.

Now I want spaghetti cooked in butter with garlic and thyme topped with fried breadcrumbs.

Why were Jackie 60's posts deleted? They did an excellent job of explaining why the tweet was racist and an insult to Allison.

Sometimes I wish we could mute posters. I think I'm losing brain cells by reading some of the rubbish on this thread.

Oh Lord. The more you guys try the worse you sound.

You are defending obvious, deliberate in your face racist, homophobic bullying and you claim it's ok because she said bigoted women are also affected and need to step up?

You think that makes it ok? You are showing your own bigotry loud and clear. I won't waste any breath on you. You are showing yourselves up, and the rest of your toxic gang.

Sunlight's on you. Wake up.

"you claim it's ok because she said bigoted women are also affected and need to step up?"

I'm saying racism and homophobia are always bad and Bailey should have know better than to invite them into the transphobic movement.

second: that Hearach and Jumpkid can’t read, or C/p properly, or understand what they read + C/p - thus accidently making GC points so much clearer to your average lurker

hearache cannot claim to have not known this either, because they posted that link to Allison’s tweet yesterday afternoon on the Ben Cooper and got laughed at for not reading it all and comprehending it’s meaning then.

Plus has tried posting that video from the transitioned male using the female toilets despite knowing that the conference had notified people they were female single sex spaces only as a ‘gotcha’ before to be pointed out the facts behind it. And those facts made it clear that this transitioned male has no respect for female nor for an obviously neurodiverse person either.

We have said this about hearache before, they do much work for those of us seeking to strengthen the rights of females and children against the conflicts from other groups. And not just in the constant live demonstrations at just how intolerant, how inane, how weak and how polarised, totalitarian and ill researched the activist tactics are.

"We have said this about hearache before, they do much work for those of us seeking to strengthen the rights of females and children against the conflicts from other groups."

Do you agree that in this supposed fight for the rights of women/children against trans people that racists and homophobic women should be welcome?

Also boasted about having a recording from wearing a wire all day (when they admitted they had been in the female toilets), that they might make public, with fellow TRA Katy Montgomerie on KM's podcast.

Again with the misinformation.

You can't 'join' the LGB Alliance, it isn't a membership club.

Gays, Lesbians and Bisexual people are free to support whatever cause they want, without your permission.

Women are free to support whatever cause they want, without your permission.

All Allison seems to have done to upset you was to point this out.

Makes me wonder what your actual objection to 'people can support whatever cause they want' is.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/08/2022 10:20

Did AB have a meal with JKR? I know a group of women got together socially and an Italian restaurant was vandalised because JKR went to its sister restaurant.

Yes Allison was at the recent lunch party with Suzanne Moore, Julie Bindel, and others.

All Allison did was invite homophobes to join the GC cause and many turned up at the LGB Alliance conference. No surprise.

It's tragic that so many TRA's come on here trying to excuse Joanne Harris' bigoted racism just because she is on their side.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/08/2022 10:24

This is what Allison said in that tweet thread, that hearach is misrepresenting:

This has been one of the most depressing 24 hours I’ve ever had on Gender Critical Twitter.

To be clear: every woman & girl must know that their sex-based rights will disappear if they do not pay attention & join this struggle.

2/ This is so regardless of their skin colour, age, economic status, politics, education etc. Whether they are non-racist, racist, homosexual or homophobic.

That doesn’t mean I condone racist or homophobic behaviour, I abhor it.

3/ That doesn’t mean I have to ally myself with racists or homophobes or that I will not call out such behaviour, just that I recognise that all women need to know that the struggle for women’s rights is their struggle too.

It continues:

"Can we as a movement model anti-racist, radical feminist & progressive politics? Absolutely but we must not use that to exclude other women whose politics we disagree with or even abhor."

Racists and homophobes must NOT be excluded, it what she's saying. Very weird.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/08/2022 10:26

Read the whole thread that hearach helpfully linked. It's a message which is often discussed on MN, that this fight is for all women.

5/ Can we as a movement model anti-racist, radical feminist & progressive politics? Absolutely but we must not use that to exclude other women whose politics we disagree with or even abhor. We can chose not to ally with them directly.

"we must not use that to exclude other women whose politics"

Yes she doesn't want to exclude them and invited a number to the LGB Alliance conference. I think it's pretty clear that racism and homophobia are not red lines for her.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/08/2022 10:27

Yes, hearach, I was going to continue it, because I don't think you understand it. Thanks for proving my point! I don't do purity spirals, like Allison.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/08/2022 10:28

This is brilliant, hearach, do carry on.

So you don't think racists and homophobes should be excluded from the GC movement? Okay....

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/08/2022 10:29

It's not possible to exclude people from believing in biological reality.
