What is Allison Bailey's spaghetti briefcase?

Like the title says really, I'm seeing it all over twitter today and I haven't got a clue what it's about.

The is no racist trope about black women having spaghetti (or any other food) in a briefcase. What a ridiculous thread.

It was, of course, brought back from China by Marco Polo and noodles are also traditional in some regions of India.

I have 100% no doubt that Alison has suffered plenty of racism but the spaghetti thing is not a minstrel/ racism thing. Dropping your spaghetti as a meme meaning the person is an idiot is a common internet thing - I’ve never seen it with a particular race angle.

I've found that! Hadn't heard of it before and won't likely think of it again but it has helped me make sense of this.

Why were Jackie 60's posts deleted? They did an excellent job of explaining why the tweet was racist and an insult to Allison.

Plus has tried posting that video from the transitioned male using the female toilets despite knowing that the conference had notified people they were female single sex spaces only as a ‘gotcha’ before to be pointed out the facts behind it. And those facts made it clear that this transitioned male has no respect for female nor for an obviously neurodiverse person either.

Also boasted about having a recording from wearing a wire all day (when they admitted they had been in the female toilets), that they might make public, with fellow TRA Katy Montgomerie on KM's podcast.

You can't 'join' the LGB Alliance, it isn't a membership club.

Gays, Lesbians and Bisexual people are free to support whatever cause they want, without your permission.

Women are free to support whatever cause they want, without your permission.

All Allison seems to have done to upset you was to point this out.

Yes Allison was at the recent lunch party with Suzanne Moore, Julie Bindel, and others.

All Allison did was invite homophobes to join the GC cause and many turned up at the LGB Alliance conference. No surprise.

It's tragic that so many TRA's come on here trying to excuse Joanne Harris' bigoted racism just because she is on their side.

Read the whole thread that hearach helpfully linked. It's a message which is often discussed on MN, that this fight is for all women.
