Trial started today.

I don’t know where to start with this:

Lots going on there.

I will say that the pronoun choice of the article is interesting, compared to other court case recordings.

Birdsweepsin · 11/07/2022 12:58

Mr Watson said he looked inside the car and saw 'a white male wearing a white long-sleeve top which was tight to the body, a black leather PVC mini-skirt, tights, dark shoes with a high heel and a pearl necklace'.

How very transphobic to call Jamie male.

CraggyIslandTouristBoard · 11/07/2022 13:01

I believe when Jamie Wallis came out as trans he said for the time being he would continue to present as male and use male pronouns, which I imagine is the reason for male pronouns in the article.

corlan · 11/07/2022 13:04

Call me Mystic Meg but this was predictable.

Indeed.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 11/07/2022 13:06

To be fair, he ( not misgendering, Jamie has stated that he is still using male pronouns) had not come out as transgender at the time of the incident. So Mr Watson, the witness, is allowed to say what he saw, or thought he saw.

or whatever

Seriously nobody drives in heels. Wear what you want but for the sake of Christ wear trainers or flats to drive in.

ThinkingaboutLangClegosaurus · 11/07/2022 13:21

But, but, but ... how can anyone be a woman and not wear high heels at all times?

😮

Plasmodesmata · 11/07/2022 13:30

I have never worn high heels. I am probably womaning all wrong.

Obviously people do drive in heels. They don't automatically make your driving unsafe. I don't wear them now but when I did I wore them driving with no issues.

ShirleyPhallus · 11/07/2022 13:32

“He was wearing a pearl necklace”

I just bet he was

IcakethereforeIam · 11/07/2022 13:37

Just pleased to read that the pearl necklace was actually a pearl necklace.

Wonder what the medication was that he definitely took after the accident?

FourTeaFallOut · 11/07/2022 13:40

I think I'm womaning wrong too. I had known idea that you can just leg it from ploughing your car into the lamp-post? Do you have to keep your heels on for it to be a real mitigating circumstance?

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 11/07/2022 13:43

No one was actually hurt were they? I don’t want to laugh at this if people got hurt.

Just read article. Thank goodness. 🤣🤣🤣

So he had his high heel driving accident prior to “coming out as trans,” was that the order of events?
All has suddenly become clear!

Datun · 11/07/2022 13:47

RosalindsAFuckingNightmare · 11/07/2022 13:05

Indeed.

Yep. Does the forstarter judgement allow us to talk about this yet?

Deadringer · 11/07/2022 13:49

He is obviously not cut out to be a politician, he needs to be a better liar to succeed.

Plasmodesmata · 11/07/2022 13:51

What is worrying about this case is it seems from the article that Jamie didn't stick around after the crash, but got his dad to pick him up, and he wasn't arrested until the next morning. This could mean that he was unfit to drive for more than just footwear reasons and it that's the case it's not funny at all.

Hoppinggreen · 11/07/2022 13:52

I don’t even know where to start.
Blaming your crimes on being a Transwoman ( or wanting to be, which may be the same thing? Or not? I am confused) is something that definitely doesn’t happen

Now, now, he was avoiding that nice cat that ran across the road. He's the real hero of the story.

CrossStichQueen · 11/07/2022 14:01

I feel thete is a tinge of sarcasm/dry tone in that article.....which just makes the whole ridiculous story even more ridiculous.

Being trans should not make a person exempt from a crime they have committed and the fact he believes it should as he has pleaded not guilty to all 4 counts just shows how fucked up this ideology is!

VestofAbsurdity · 11/07/2022 14:01

Hmm, I think the watchers would be apoplectic if we referenced the extremely large elephant lurking in the corner of the room.

Rightsraptor · 11/07/2022 14:02

But @Allthegoodnamesarechosen witnesses must always be allowed to testify what they saw or thought they saw. Otherwise we have witnesses spouting socially acceptable statements that have been concocted, probably with the connivance of others.

Rather as it is in Canada I believe, with witnesses being forced to lie about the sex of miscreants.

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind1 · 11/07/2022 14:05

Aww bless her, such a lovely lady, swerving to avoid a cat, then err running off in high heels.
Perhaps the attack he feared was being misgendered, as we all know that's literal violence?
Oh, bugger, now I've done it.

TooBigForMyBoots · 11/07/2022 14:07

I feel gutted for any GC person in Bridgend who held their nose and voted Tory on the basis that "at least the Conservatives know what a woman is".🙄

IcakethereforeIam · 11/07/2022 14:09

Is he growing his hair out?
