Trial started today.

I don’t know where to start with this:

Just a standard day in the Conservative party.

What is worrying about this case is it seems from the article that Jamie didn't stick around after the crash, but got his dad to pick him up, and he wasn't arrested until the next morning. This could mean that he was unfit to drive for more than just footwear reasons and it that's the case it's not funny at all.

I wouldn't like to speculate about that. 🤥

However...

I wonder if the words of Naomi Cunningham, when giving evidence to the Scottish Parliament, might more accurately describe Jamie's motivation for his sartorial choices that night. It would make a lot more sense in light of his previous and subsequent behaviour.

Beowulfa · 11/07/2022 14:11

I don't care what he was wearing, I just want shit drivers off the roads.

But preferably not running off them from the scene of an accident.

But @Allthegoodnamesarechosen witnesses must always be allowed to testify what they saw or thought they saw. Otherwise we have witnesses spouting socially acceptable statements that have been concocted, probably with the connivance of others.

Rather as it is in Canada I believe, with witnesses being forced to lie about the sex of miscreants.

This has happened in the UK, too. Not sure if we are allowed to talk about it? It was one of the more chilling aspects of the case IMO.

WeeBisom · 11/07/2022 14:16

I did wonder if him coming out as trans was to preempt any potential embarrassment arising from this accident. Looks like I was correct. I do feel a bit sorry for him, but it’s an odd excuse. Many women have been victimised and suffer from trauma, but I’ve never heard of them saying this is a reason why they fled the scene of a crime.

Obviously people do drive in heels. They don't automatically make your driving unsafe. I don't wear them now but when I did I wore them driving with no issues.

Surely they impede one's getaway after crashing though. Not easy to run in.

PrawnGoDookaDooka · 11/07/2022 14:23

I see 'swerving into a telegraph pole to avoid a cat and not being breathalysed until the next day' is the new eating too many baked potatoes, falling out of your car and running yourself over.

FourTeaFallOut · 11/07/2022 14:27

eating too many baked potatoes, falling out of your car and running yourself over

🤣🤣That was the most sceptical Google I have ever done, and there it was.

FOJN · 11/07/2022 14:31

If you Google Brian Harvey it auto completes with baked potato 😁

I was just reading about this on the bbc news site. There are so many dodgy sounding elements.

I dislike the salacious one of the article. Let people wear whatever they want. And let them face the consequences of their actions. I agree, there is much dodginess to be found...

But, but, but ... how can anyone be a woman and not wear high heels at all times?

😮

Exactly my thoughts. I actually wear mine when go to sleep, that’s how female I am.

BreadInCaptivity · 11/07/2022 14:51

Q: How do you hide an elephant in a cherry tree?

A: You paint it's toenails red.

Using the words of the BBC, this person was linked to a "sugar daddy" company.

Belovedfool · 11/07/2022 14:54

Wonder why the police didn't go to the house till the next morning, especially as there must have been suspicion the driver was under the influence of something. That doesn't seem right, irrespective of any other circumstances. Do they really leave it to the next morning?

achillestoes · 11/07/2022 14:55

The issue here is the obvious protective cloak his ‘identity’ has thrown round him. I don’t care what he wears, but if he weren’t ‘trans’ Labour would be all over this.

Datun · 11/07/2022 14:58

So male violence was one of his motivations for running away?

But the exact same ideology means that women can't have boundaries?

Hypocritical drivel.

He set up some sugar daddy site, right? And fled the scene of an accident wearing women's clothes. Then says he's transgender.

I'm calling it, here and now, that this will not be the last we hear of this person and their antics.

transdimensional · 11/07/2022 15:02

I am not sure whether he was come out as trans yet.
What JW said on 30th March was that "I'm trans, or, to be more accurate, I want to be".
So he wants to be trans. But whether he is already trans is a different question. He implied that it's not entirely accurate at this point to say that he's trans.

Tbf I understand he did leave the road before hitting the telegraph pole then getting daddy to pick him up

TooBigForMyBoots · 11/07/2022 15:08

I suspect that if he weren't a Tory, the press would have be all over it.🤔

MarshaMelrose · 11/07/2022 15:10

There's nothing wrong about wearing high heels whilst driving. Why are you making it about that? People can wear whatever clothes they want and it's no one else's business.

Firesidefox · 11/07/2022 15:10

Most of the Press are left-leaning so how does that work?
