Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Fck it. Just going to identify as agender as a GC feminist.

I'm technically agender anyway as I choose to not believe in gender woo.

If males can infiltrate feminism by saying they're women I'm infiltrating transgendersism by identifying as agender.

If I'm asked my gender identity why shouldn't I say this, it's technically true according to stonewall.

Quite like the idea of being a double agent of sorts....

@Conflictedunicorn yes.

I missed you being called transphobic, sorry.

But I'm not sure it's a crime not to have coherent arguments?

I really hate the cancel culture coming from the TRAs and I think it's important not to do that to anyone.

FemmeNatal · 26/06/2022 21:11

Isn’t is sad, pathetic, and oh so predictable that this thread’s TRA has done what all others do when a difficult question comes up?

All the claims of having a coherent argument, gone in a puff of outrage.

Yup. Not saying they were hoping for screenshots but it does seem they were not engaging in good faith

RogersOrganismicProcess · 26/06/2022 21:19

So are we to assume that placewherewebelong‘s lack of answer is because there is actually no difference between the acceptability of trans race/sex?

RogersOrganismicProcess · 26/06/2022 21:20

Damn I really thought I was going to learn something valuable.

They were arguing, from the start, in bad faith. They had no intention of engaging honestly, they went straight for insults, outrage, and then moved into upset and evasion when asked a fair but awkward question.

No-one cancelled them, they were just rightly criticised for being dishonest.

CandyLeBonBon · 26/06/2022 21:40

You could say age is a social construct, but people are not identifying as trans age.

Well that's also happening isn't it? Stefoknee something? Identifying as a 6 year old girl?

So @placewherewebelong what's your opinion on that? As you are allowed an opinion (of course, it's a free country) what are your opinions on transagism? If you have children, how would you feel about your kids playing with a fully adult male playing with your kids and telling you he's actually a 6 year old girl?

Metabigot · 26/06/2022 22:04

Stefonee is dangerously close to the adult baby fetishism.

I have no problem with what people get up to in their own homes as consenting adults

But are we now going to see adult babies in giant prams and have to affirm their identity as babies otherwise hurty feels/literal violence.

Don't say it couldn't happen..10 years ago no one was seriously thinking twaw and now you can't even challenge it except on here.

Where will the madness end?

@FemmeNatal maybe you are right. My initial impression was that they were being at most mildly offensive in response to at least equal provocation, and that people were putting words into their mouth to some extent, but I came to the thread late and it got quite convoluted so maybe it helped to be there!

I have just tried to read a lot of it again and have seen a bit of what you all mean.

But out of the below list

bullies, disingenuous, spiteful, mean, meanspirited, boring, transphobic, and so on.

it seemed like quite a lot of the comments referred to activities or behaviors rather than people and were not intended as personal but as a reasonable part of the argument taking place.

The exceptions being boring (which was later explained but it was still personal) and transphobic (I couldn't work out what that was in reference to).

Anyway I will shut up now!

Yeah that's why. Nothing to do with me having a life outside mn.

Well that's the thing isn't it? You want to identify as a baby/young child and pay someone to indulge your sexual fetish? Crack on. Can't say I understand it and I'm not sure I'm on board with it ethically from a feminist perspective but let's put that aside for a moment.

The thing that concerns me is that this kind of Identity project expects others to buy into their fantasy, without consent, both on sex and age terms. How is that remotely acceptable? You do you, with consenting adults, if that's what you want, but expecting others to validate that because of your need to exist without any kind of reality check is absolutely narcissistic.

My point being: if it's gender/sex, why can't it be race, age, social status etc etc. who, where and at what point do you draw the line? And who decides that?

placewherewebelong · 26/06/2022 22:19

nightwakingmoon · 26/06/2022 21:10

Ah, then you must have “skimmed” the bits where place repeatedly called other posters bullies, disingenuous, spiteful, mean, meanspirited, boring, transphobic, and so on. Not sure that anyone else has made any personal comments like those.

🤣🤣

And would you like to list what I was called?

Conflictedunicorn · 26/06/2022 21:14

Screenshots because the resr of the internet is so interested in your opinions.

Right.

You’ve made perfectly clear that you have no interest in conversing in good faith. Your childish refusal to explain why trans-race is in invalid concept is just more evidence of this.

Conflictedunicorn · 26/06/2022 22:21

placewherewebelong · 26/06/2022 22:17

Umm…. @Aria999 was actually defending you. I think you’ve proved the point we were making perfectly.

You must have missed quite a lot of it, place was pretty free with the twisting of peoples words and personal attacks on other posters. Maybe don't just "skim" the thread and then jump in to criticise people for being mean to a poster without mentioning their own personal attacks?

placewherewebelong · 26/06/2022 22:22

Conflictedunicorn · 26/06/2022 22:21

placewherewebelong · 26/06/2022 22:18

Yeah that's why. Nothing to do with me having a life outside mn.

Go on then, show everyone that you are not a disingenuous troll, and explain coherently why trans-race is different to trans gender.

Or don’t, and just re-confirm what everyone can already see.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 22:23

CandyLeBonBon · 26/06/2022 22:23

To be fair @placewherewebelong you've been on Mn pretty much all day, on and off, as have I.

I actually think you have points you want to articulate but maybe haven't worked out how best to express them? I'd certainly like to think so at least. But the unwillingness to engage in the transracial conversation is concerning. It's natural that people will (and have) said 'well if you can feel like 'this' why can't you feel like 'that'?'

If you can't or won't answer, people will naturally assume that you are arguing in bad faith.

Conflictedunicorn · 26/06/2022 22:24

Oh yes. @place did say earlier on the thread she had good coherent arguments, We’re all listening so have at it. We believe in you
