Supernature is taking absolutely, absolutely no prisoners. I am 7 minutes in with a mojito in hand.

I think we need to recognise the Navratilova effect; if you bully a celebrity until they feel compelled to apologise even though they've done nothing wrong there is the risk they will go away, inform themselves and come back in a much more uncompromising way.

Dave Chapelle: I didn't have a problem with trans people. I really didn't. I do now.

BootsAndRoots · 24/05/2022 14:04

Does anyone have any statistics on the amount of trans people murdered after Netflix aired the Dave Chappelle show (like was claimed to happen)? The only statistic I have is that one comedian (Dave Chappelle) was attacked on stage.

Ricky Gervais, like many, mocks the people who pretend to be trans (the bearded men, who dress like men, and maintain their genitalia) and mocks sex offenders, and then the outrage is that he's transphobic.

Absolute gold, bang on and very funny 😅 There’s truth in the absurdity!

Cripes this

The louder the TRAs shout, the more people will search out his show and the more money he makes 👏 👏 👏

Playing to his particular crowd no less than RG does, tbh.

Full disclosure, I thought he was unfunny before realising he'd said anything on this subject.

It's good if you think that comedians who joke about people pretending to be trans to get into single-sex spaces is transphobic.

GrinAndVomit · 24/05/2022 14:55

A yes, a man bemoaning the fact other (far more successful) men are shining a comedic light on males appropriating female safe spaces.

Hilarious

heathspeedwell · 24/05/2022 15:02

Just watched it, there were moments of sheer genius. It's great that he's helping to create an environment where it's more mainstream to question why people with a penis feel entitled to enter women's spaces.

Also he's donated 427k of the profits to animal charities.

Somanysocks · 24/05/2022 15:03

Thanks @Chooing

Is this supposed to be a joke though? Seems like more of a rant than a joke.

Not as good as the Gervais one...acaster seemed a bit yelly

Is that his 'thing'?

OpFields · 24/05/2022 15:10

In the future young people will look back on that clip of Gervais like our generation look at Jim Davidson and Bernard Manning.

And they will revere James Acaster as a comedic god.

Bring on Gilead, I say.

Yeah right. In your authoritarian nightmare.

Abhannmor · 24/05/2022 15:17

Never warmed to Ricky tbh. But he is just the right bloke for this fight. Way too big to cancel and couldn't care less.

WouldBeGood · 24/05/2022 15:17

I’m so happy to see this and am an RG convert

GrinAndVomit · 24/05/2022 15:17

Only if this future involves all the “old, boring women” shutting up and capitulating and all the younger, clueless women never waking up to misogyny.

Sorry, this was to OpFields.

he's been sh*t for a while - all he's got left is being "crass". He used to be cleverer than that.

I saw this live. It was hilarious.

He's not shit.

I LOVE RIcky Gervais, I am never, ever offended by anything he says, or by any other person that I find funny.

if I could marry Ricky, I would, for many reasons💙

Me too!
