Judy Khan.

They'll change the name at the break.

Chrysanthemum5 · 19/05/2022 09:43

This is Judy Khan there is an error which means she is speaking with the name of the previous witness

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 19/05/2022 09:44

Witness is:

Judy Khan QC from Garden Court Chambers
https://www.gardencourtchambers.co.uk/barristers/judy-khan-qc/sao
"Judy Khan QC has experience of criminal defence work across a wide spectrum of criminal cases. She has been instructed as leading counsel in cases involving allegations of murder, attempted murder, kidnap, fraud, money laundering and large-scale importation/supply of drugs.
She also has extensive experience of cases involving sexual allegations, including historical sexual abuse. Judy finds representing young and vulnerable defendants particularly rewarding.
She spent two years representing a number of families at the Hillsborough Inquests; she led a team of barristers who dealt with the medical and pathology evidence. She has also defended, both as leading and junior counsel, in cases involving allegations of baby-shaking.
Judy won Crime Silk of the Year at the Chambers Bar Awards 2019.
Judy is a criminal silk and her practice crosses a spectrum of serious crime. She is predominantly briefed in murder cases, often involving gang-related killings committed by young defendants. She also specialises in cases involving serious sexual allegations."

It's Judy Khan for GCC Motorina.

Motorina · 19/05/2022 09:44

Perfect, thank you both. My support dogs are howling in the background, so it's just as well!

Ameanstreakamilewide · 19/05/2022 09:46

Seems to be distancing herself from it. She twice made the point that her tenure as HoC was over, or almost over.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 19/05/2022 09:46

I think Kirrin Medcalf is a he/they but I do wonder how many commentators realise this but if you identify into a group with privilege then I guess you can't complain when journalists attribute that privilege to you as presumably that's what you wanted.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 19/05/2022 09:50

JK is crying...

NoImAVeronica · 19/05/2022 09:50

well that was unexpected!

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 19/05/2022 09:50

Told you she was nervous. For those not watching she is already crying.

NoImAVeronica · 19/05/2022 09:51

I thought she was holding together remarkably well until then.

tabbycatstripy · 19/05/2022 09:51

The poor woman. That’s really sad.

stimpyyouidiot · 19/05/2022 09:52

That is sad.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 19/05/2022 09:52

Her sister died unexpectedly at 58 and she made the statement the day before the funeral so she might have made mistakes and doesn't have a full memory of the material at the time she signed her previous statement.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 19/05/2022 09:52

Grief was clouding her judgement, she says.

ickky · 19/05/2022 09:52

Mitigating circumstances, JK Sister died at the time of writing her statement.

Thanks @IdisagreeMrHochhauser . I think that’s what I was wondering. It’s 1 thing to be part of the most disadvantaged group ever, quite another to be middle class white mail, All a bit Terry and June.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 19/05/2022 09:53

(As an aside. This film will really have everything)

NoImAVeronica · 19/05/2022 09:53

Oh okay, it's not about her suddenly realising how duplicitous the behaviour was, it's about a personal matter.

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 19/05/2022 09:53

She’s sounded quite resigned to me since she started.
we’ll see how this goes.

felt really sorry for her re: her sister, that’s awful

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 19/05/2022 09:54

Oh bless her.

MissPollysFitDolly · 19/05/2022 09:54

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 19/05/2022 09:52

Her sister died unexpectedly at 58 and she made the statement the day before the funeral so she might have made mistakes and doesn't have a full memory of the material at the time she signed her previous statement.

Oh dear, that's sad.

stimpyyouidiot · 19/05/2022 09:55

She has stated she isn't making excuses. It is a terrible thing to have happened to her, but BC is right that it was a very serious allegation about AB.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 19/05/2022 09:55

It is, Louise. We could all find ourselves in a similar predicament.

tabbycatstripy · 19/05/2022 09:55

Of course it doesn’t excuse any behaviour towards AB that breaches the EA.
