The woman in that Mirror article sounds like a nightmare prisoner - smashing her tv, flooding her cell. Self-harm is a terrible problem in the womens estate, even worse than in the mens, and its virtually all trauma-based - yet another reason, if one were needed, not to lock men up in places like Bronzefield (not Belmarsh).
The statistics look like they might be from one of the Europe-wide studies.
