Activists continue to be weird. Ives, the one who went to LGB Alliance's conference last year and insisted on using the women's toilets there, has photoshopped themselves sitting on the table in a very weird pose.

Quote from Twitter.

I don't think I've seen a better illustration of what is currently happening to womens spaces than this tweet.

It's a literal depiction of what's actually going on.

@RufustheFloralmissingreindeer

‘Transwomen look more like women than they do’

Hahahahah You wish 😒

Shit like this makes it so obvious they are men - thinking like men, talking like men, judging women just like men do. They are so blatant.

How dare women not conform to their ideals, and still be happy and confident and strong. They can't understand it.

Roseglen84 · 11/04/2022 22:35

@NoToLandfill

I was at the event where Liane is photographed in front of the tra protestors. They were a bunch of shouty teenage girls from what I could see. Really intimidating though. Liane really confused them. Like they just couldn't get their heads around what she was all about.
It makes me sad to think how many young girls are supporting their own oppression. I wonder if they think they will be spared misogyny if they align themselves with the 'right crowd'.

Hopefully in years to come they will realise the damage being done to all women because of this crap.

ScreamingMeMe · 11/04/2022 22:37

Screenshots of India Willoughby's misogyny and homophobia for posterity. Also India has added "suffragette" to their twitter bio. Mad as a box of frogs.

Anyone who wishes they were there, book tickets to Filia conference, it's in Swansea in September this year.
I can guarantee you will be surrounded by brilliant women for a whole weekend, including women and girls only party on the Saturday night.
I went last year and it was one of the best weekends if my life, even if it did make me feel a little inadequate compared to some of the absolutely amazing women who attended and spoke about the work they do.
Even if you have nobody to go with, you will find women who will welcome you and look out for you. It really is the best place ever and I cant wait to get there again.
Julie bindel sat down in the seat next to my best friend in the auditorium and I must admit I was pretty star struck.
They sell sponsored tickets for women who can't afford the full price.
Sorry I can't do a link, I'm dreaming jkr might be in Swansea x

‘Transwomen look more like women than they do’

Only if your definition of ‘women’ is long hair and lipstick.

Now I know how to answer the question ‘who would be at your fantasy dinner party’?

Here’s to the ladies who lunch!

PonyPatter44 · 11/04/2022 22:42

Those tweets from that IW are really astonishing, aren't they? Real hatred and jealousy.

IW really doesn’t get it!

’She’s hugging two individuals who could clearly be trans. I don’t get it.’

IW really, really doesn’t get it!

Not living up to a stereotype of women doesn’t make you trans, it makes you gender critical.

FOJN · 11/04/2022 22:46

3rd image: India finally admits they don't get it.

The rest of the world: WE KNOW

India is doing a very good impression of someone whose bitter, misogynistic and nasty.

DomesticatedZombie · 11/04/2022 22:54

Is India quite well?

Rainbowshit · 11/04/2022 22:54

The reaction ti this lunch is really quite astonishing. They really show up the woman hating aspect of their ideology

India tries so, so hard to be a girlie. India is the BEST, girliest girlie that any girl could be. No natal girl could come close to India's quintessential girlieness...but India still can't understand why unattractive women (by India's criteria) got invited to the BEST women's party and India didn't. The more i read those tweets, the more I see the hate AND hurt in those words.

Awkwardy · 11/04/2022 23:09

I live in hope that Willoughby will wake up tomorrow and just say - you know what, I had fun but it's over now.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 11/04/2022 23:15

Many activists, including India, have a personal definition of woman which goes like this, whether they recognise it or not, and they think: woman=that which (they think) straight men would most like to shag.

But our biological reality is not defined by reference to an external male gaze; if I live the rest of my life on a desert island and no man ever sees me again, I will still be female. India may be convinced that straight men would rather date India than the women at the lunch party, but even if India's right, it doesn't matter. Men's erections do not define us.

CervixSampler · 11/04/2022 23:20

@PurgatoryOfPotholes that's a brilliant post. Thank you for both the laugh regarding their thoughts and just the plain sense of what you have said.

India is a strange one. So many negative emotions and viewpoints in one human being cant make for any kind of serenity. Peace of mind will be a stranger to India until India faces reality on.

I love what jkr has done. She didn't need to. Indeed, I think she wondered if she should. But her ethics won out.

And she's doing it for all women. Every one of us. She knows. She really knows. She's every woman.

Could you not send one of your little wingéd cherubs with a message, Datun? It would be a bit like owl post. grin

Done @SirSamVimesCityWatch. Winging their chubby little way to Rowling Towers as we speak.
