The Twitter hashtag #MadAngryCry is worth a look 🤣🤣

Rainbowshit · 12/04/2022 12:53

I've also seen people criticising them for even sharing the photos!! Like no one ever shares photos of a meal with friends. 🤔 bonkers.

DomesticatedZombie · 12/04/2022 13:00

Craig Murray, get a grip. I've defended you despite differences of opinion, ffs, but waving your massive expensive house in women's faces as some kind of bizarre oppression claim is not the win you apparently think it is.

flipandflop · 12/04/2022 13:04

It’s hardly like they’re dining at a Michelin restaurant or something, there’s even a projector in some of the shots.

The lunch was at The River Café which does have a Michelin star.

Slothtoes · 12/04/2022 13:06

Love it BunnyBerries

MrsOvertonsWindow · 12/04/2022 13:09

Thank you BunnyBerries.
Another great lunch!

Ah I stand corrected, thank you!

Some of those tweets are gold
AryaStarkWolf · 12/04/2022 13:20

Just reading the comments under Rosie Jones Mad angry cry post and this one baffled me, they do this a lot take something that actually applies to them and try and make out it applies to "the other side" -

"With you completely. But take heart from their tiny numbers compared with the crowds outside. They are loud, but they are so, so few."

Artichokeleaves · 12/04/2022 13:29

Ooh are women not allowed to dine at Michelin star restaurants either? Grin

I don't know, they dare to socialise as a group of online friends, they dare to enjoy each other's company, they dare to not look properly right as women according apparently to some rather peculiar standard someone has come up with, and now damnit all they're daring to go somewhere with a michelin bloody star instead of eating gruel in some back alley.

The nerve of it!

Call the police!

I think Kathleen Stock took this routine down today in her five rules.

"Kids like to copy what you just said and repeat it back to you (“no, YOU are!”). Sometimes they do it just to annoy you. At other times, it’s because they want to argue the toss but don’t know how, so just parrot a version of what you just said in the hope it will stick."

Well, Craig Murray has made an absolute twit of himself, here.

I had suspected he was a misogynist; this whole daft series of tweets confirms it. Of all the people in all the world he wants to attack, it's a group of women for the crime of having lunch together and ... owning phones, or something, that he is choosing to go for? Aye.

I do continue to be surprised at how easily women are maligned, mocked, attacked, criticised and derided for :

the wrong clothes
the wrong age
the wrong faces
the wrong friends
the wrong way of looking
the wrong tone/emotion
the wrong amount of money
the wrong way to eat lunch
the wrong drinks
the wrong kind of injustice
the wrong kind of response
the wrong words
the wrong taking of selfies
the wrong kind of laughing

Some people would far prefer we stayed indoors and stayed quiet, I presume. What other fucking explanation is there for this bullshit?

Wish I was at this lunch

  • he's not a TRA, by the way, just a common or garden sexist.

Oh thats just ridiculous...why don't these people think for two seconds

They could have invited thousands of women and loads of us would have rocked up

DomesticatedZombie · 12/04/2022 13:52

Oh, this explains it. He's a victim of SE property inflation, we should probably have a bit more sympathy.

@LittleWhingingWoman

I'm outraged that I wasn't invited to this lunch and I am going to photoshop myself into the pictures dressed as a middle aged woman.
snort Grin me too!!
ScreamingMeMe · 12/04/2022 13:58

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

Genderologist Professor Alison Phipps, who I see has recently left the University of Sussex and is not at Newcastle, bafflingly claimed that they all looked miserable. That may not be verbatim as she's protected her tweets now and I can't remember the exact wording, but she got some cracking responses to that. 'Should have gone to Specsavers' would have been mine if I'd got in in time.
I saw a tweet where she said it looked like hell.
AryaStarkWolf · 12/04/2022 13:59

@Artichokeleaves thanks for that, great article over all

NotBadConsidering · 12/04/2022 14:09

Julie Bindel has said they left a voicemail message on Martina Navratilova’s phone 🤣. At first I was wondering who had her number, but I suspect it was JKR. I bet her phone contact list is amazing. I am now imagining who else they should have drunk called.

“Hey Jo, let’s call Potter, Weasley and Grainger and tell them they’re all a bunch of cunts!” CHEER!

She’d never allow it of course, far too classy. But still..

ScreamingMeMe · 12/04/2022 14:11

Mimmymum is losing her mind that the lunch made the newspapers Grin

DomesticatedZombie · 12/04/2022 14:14

It's truly astonishing.

Women meet, talk, have lunch, drink wine.

Internet explodes.

I've been and it's very nice Smile

Interesting that they chose a venue with gender neutral toilets, there's no ladies or gents simply pink or blue doors.

Igneococcus · 12/04/2022 14:26

1.6K comments under the Times article mostly supportive Smile

Beamur · 12/04/2022 14:40

Power feminism goes to lunch.
It really does deserve a good venue and excellent wine. Dress code? No hair shirts required.
I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall. I reckon they're plotting something.
