Why ??

NecessaryScene · 07/04/2022 08:19

I do love the fundamental conflict between Denton's very sane and considered "stay out of the spotlight" guidance and the irrepressible narcissism of those for whom the guidance was intended. Grin

Poor Dentons. They tried.

Rightsraptor · 07/04/2022 08:19

I wish I hadn't seen this. Now I'm wondering if I should listen to it, at the risk of my radio going out of the window.

Monitaurus · 07/04/2022 08:21

Why is this person on at all? Surely there are more appropriate channels for them? Disappointed

CaveMum · 07/04/2022 08:23

We should all tweet Woman’s Hour and Emma Barnett and ask her to challenge Grace on this statement.

Ah yes The Staggering Penis, just what woman's hour needs to celebrate. I take it Emma isn't in today?

FromOurHatsToOurFeet · 07/04/2022 08:27

I hope Emma is in and that she's not up for #nodebate.

Beamur · 07/04/2022 08:34

I'd like to hear EB interview Grace Lavery. This could be interesting.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 07/04/2022 08:43

@FromOurHatsToOurFeet

Maya had quite the grilling from EB just before her tribunal.

Let's see if EB takes quite as robust a line with Lavery.

WinterTrees · 07/04/2022 08:52

Wow. Since Lavery chickened out of a debate with Helen Joyce on Unherd I'm very surprised that they are putting themselves up for Emma Barnett on Woman's Hour.

I wondered if they've ever listened to the programme or have just been beguiled by the title into thinking it's an hour of chat about figure-flattering fashion and how to please your partner in the bedroom.

Very much hoping Emma Barnett is in the chair today and deals have not been made behind the scenes about no-go areas for discussion.

CriticalCondition · 07/04/2022 09:08

Looks like it is Emma.

Oooh, we should all tweet Helen and ask her to phone in!

Woman's hour doesn't exactly have a great track record. I stopped listening when they had the audacity to use phrases like pregnant people / people who have periods. FFS if you can't say "women and girls" on woman's hour Hmm

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/04/2022 09:12

beguiled by the title into thinking it's an hour of chat about figure-flattering fashion and how to please your partner in the bedroom.

I so hope this is the case!

MidsomerMurmurs · 07/04/2022 09:15

I think it would be a good thing if Emma asked Lavery about the part in Lavery’s book that says Lavery’s penis felt “as though I were laying my own miscarried foetus across my hand”.

WelcomeMarch · 07/04/2022 09:46

I don't think that gives the impression that GL knows anything at all about miscarriage. Just that GL is very fond of GL's own dick.

OutlookStalking · 07/04/2022 10:01

I wont be able to hear this live so posting for updates.

WinterTrees · 07/04/2022 10:02

I have made tea in the large pot. Thinking of replacing milk with Bailey's for this one.

AlisonDonut · 07/04/2022 10:03

Do womens' hour usually have people who glamourise and post photos of domestice abuse of their partner all over the internet?
How times have changed.

WinterTrees · 07/04/2022 10:03

Ah. The angle is the Boris statement.

nauticant · 07/04/2022 10:03

Straight in with Emma Barnett introducing Boris Johnson's comments being played from yesterday.

CaveMum · 07/04/2022 10:03

Here we go. Straight in with Boris’s statement yesterday.
