A male Tory MP has released a statement on Twitter that they are transgender, and also that a couple of years ago they were raped.
It's a brave statement.

If he's authentic he's male as women is not a feeling. I do not feel like a woman, I feel like me. I happen to be a woman.

This happened six months ago.

I wonder why it wasn't shared with the public when it happened to him, and why he waited until he had been involved in a hit and run accident a few months later.

Running away from a car accident and then suddenly revealing sexuality once people find out? Not suspicious at all!!

I suspect it means that if he ends up in trouble for his criminal activities, he wants to go to a women's prison.

I cannot imagine for one second that Boris Johnson would treat this MP with sensitivity and respect, I really can’t.

Just wanted to clarify- when I said it was a brave statement I knew nothing about him. Literally put it on here and then looked him up.

Sounds to me like the tories need to vet their candidates a bit better in wales. rob Roberts and Jamie Willis are quite a pair...

Parliament can change the men's loos to gender neutral, rather than the women's loos, to allow him to comfortably use facilities without going into women's facilities.

Nothing to see here A white middle aged Tory MP who has been the director of a company encouraging prostitution (and lied about his involvement) now has a sob story and is being 'very brave'. I don't have much sympathy for pimps I'm afraid. I have much more sympathy for the youngsters he traded to the wealthy for sex, and the long term damage that may have caused them.

My understanding of the law is that those not engaged in the sex acts directly are involved in unlawful /criminal activity, obtaining money and organising for that money to be washed shiney and clean is also an unlawful /criminal activity.

How on earth was that allowed to happen? It is a massive conflict of interests and a dangerous precedent to set.

Not fit to be an MP on this alone.
I hope this person receives help re the rape but also to prevent their own issues spilling over more strangers which is clearly the case also.

Well, that's all a bit of a to do, isn't it?

Runs a sleazy hook up site; gets raped by person on a "hook up" (presumably casual sex, on night tsand, maybe part of his website, who knows - but kinda hoist by his own petard in a most horrid way). Blackmailed / doxxed to his stonkingly rich and a tad business gruubby dad, had a ickle car accident, and now wants to cry "No, twas the PTSD and being Trans wot screwed me up" and get a free pass?

I have no doubt his chaotic, and privileged, lifestyle has indeed screwed him up. But given the fuller story of his own business dealings, his seemingly out of control private life, there is a lot his constituents and the party need to digest.

I hope he get al the support and health care he needs.
