The rape is awful
Is horrible that a sexual assault happened, particularity when the perpetrator is known and trusted.
Sadly I note unlike the blackmail attempt there appears to have been no police involvement in what I would view as a more serious criminal act.
they lied to the electorate opening themselves up to blackmail - this is a representative of parliament who makes legislation.
Why is being homosexual male, being in a homosexual relationship, or being diagnosed with gender dysphoria blackmail material?
I truly dislike how the mostly irrelevant personal and family lives of UK politicians are being dragged into politics. From the PM down to local level can everyone get back to a divide between whats politically relevant and whats just nosy gossiping. There is a sitting Royal Family in place nobody is voting for a First Family or a Noble Family leave that politic to the US.
As for lies to the electorate, I dont see how any of the above would change a voters mind if the voter is voting on the candidates position on policy (more relied on for newer MPs) and proven track records (how they pratice what they speeched)
And the way they talk about the car crash sounds like they crashed it into another car - a hit and run but they had PTSD so not responsible for their actions even though they are fine to be voting in parliament?
Running into a stationary object leads to a conclusion of drink drugs or reckless speed on an unfamiliar road. Voters should be more concerned about that than PTSD while debating or voting.
Local voters may ask for a policy statement on intentions around changes to the GRA or EA etc and make direct representations. But until the next election the voters have no power to make political choices.
So it underlines why voters should be asking their candidate to make clear what their poilcy is to drill down to their special interest vote decider (eg how to define man and woman)
