A male Tory MP has released a statement on Twitter that they are transgender, and also that a couple of years ago they were raped.
It's a brave statement.

You know when he said in his statement, ‘I remain the same person I was yesterday… ’?
Well, if someone tells us who they are, we should believe them.

Crcohetmonster · 05/04/2022 13:37

Exactly @Slothtoes. And yesterday he was a man. I do wonder if this is planned to distract from the car incident.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/04/2022 13:37

He’s stated he will not be changing his and, the way he presents or his pronouns.

And he doesn't seem to have stated that he "identifies as a woman". So I agree that it's non binary, it's a catch all.

Needmoresleep · 05/04/2022 13:46

Yes I was not sure. He says he is transgender but will not be changing his name or pronouns. Despite this I typed "he" with some trepidation. And then decided that non-binary was a more catch-all phrase.

(Fewer problems using the word "prat".)

If the monitors get me, so be it. I have done as many gymnastics as I am capable of.

And yesterday he was a bad man.

Owner of sugar daddy website shows he has little interest in safeguarding vulnerable young women. Who would have guessed?

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/04/2022 14:10

He hasn't actually said that he is trans though, just that he "wants to be"

Enough4me · 05/04/2022 14:15

How can you want to be something that is based on a feeling that you don't even have?

He either is male thinking he feels like a woman (which isn't possible anyhow) or he isn't. He is saying he is thinking about thinking about discovering feelings that he will identify as a woman's feelings.

Where will he go to find these feelings?

hidinginthekitchenwithwine · 05/04/2022 14:33

I'm still very confused as to why he thinks he's trans and what he thinks this means. Has he even said?

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 05/04/2022 14:41

I confess that it confuses me.

Hearing someone else on television this week saying they “are fine as they are, that they love and cherish the male body God gave them and have no intent to change” (their very male body), I am at a loss as to why they want to choose to identify as a woman.

It just seemed to be about wants and feels and whims.

I know it shouldn’t be wants and feels to deflect attention from dodgy doings though. It seems as if the use of one word seems to build an invisible shield.

And those who use this tactic can only ever be harming those who really do feel at odds in their own body.

WinterTrees · 05/04/2022 14:42

I thought the prevailing narrative about being trans is that it's innate. You might only 'discover' it in later life, but you have always been it. Same with non-binary. (Benjamin Cohen made a faux-pas on the Nolan podcast when he said the green-haired Welsh mayor had 'become' NB, and hastily amended to 'discovered' they was.)

As I understand it, Jamie Wallis's 'wanting to be' or 'thinking of becoming' or whatever the exact phrase was goes against that narrative almost as if the whole thing is being made up to suit individual agendas as we go along and has no basis in fact whatsoever

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/04/2022 14:42

Nailed it Sheldonesque

Agree..This is indeed what it seems to be currently.

''I'm Trans''

Is forgiven all transgressions and sleaze and is called 'Brave'.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/04/2022 16:18

I thought the prevailing narrative about being trans is that it's innate.

You have always been trans unless you detransition and then you never were.

BootsAndRoots · 05/04/2022 17:53

He's trans because he would like to be some day, so I'm an astronaut because one day I would like to go into space.

Swayingpalmtrees · 05/04/2022 18:31

I wonder how it is actually going down in the Trans community, this flippant attitude well I might be trans one day is not doing their genuine cause any good. Like a pair of shoes or a different hairstyle. For those that have battled with their ID for life, it may well be insulting. It is hard to see who Sugar Daddy is actually appealing to.

Apart from the Conservatives whom would have had to take serious action against this man, but hence have been spared that embarrassment and could not have been cheering any louder.

I feel sorry for his wife. I feel sorry for his children. I feel sorry for his parents they must be wondering where on earth they went wrong.

Somanysocks · 05/04/2022 18:59

Don't forget everyone, be kind, he is brave and stunning.. and speshull.

Xenia · 05/04/2022 20:34

He didn't say he is trans. He said he intends to be trans in future (which is a weird way for him to put it really but there we are). What he really meant is he intends to go through the gender change process.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 05/04/2022 20:55

You could be right.

But he could also be using the Emperor’s new word to deflect any negativity coming his way.

He may very well ‘intend’ and that would indeed be brave should it come to pass.

I will wait patiently. I can only ever aspire to be stunning and brave. It would be lovely to see.

While I wait, I will read the new thread. Glinner is letting the light in. Again.

Enough4me · 05/04/2022 23:29

Imagine stuffing lots up, people look down on you, you know you need to do something...
"I'm trans" I've got the golden ticket, I've got the golden ticket, I've got the gollldeeeen tiiiiickettt, fa la la

nepeta · 06/04/2022 01:31

What's fascinating about the information I have gained from reading on various trans sites is that most people there are actually not saying that they always felt they were the other sex or no sex at all. It's more common for someone to say that they began to think so fairly recently.

Somanysocks · 06/04/2022 05:09

I look forward to see whether he decides to be 'tarty' woman or 'frumpy' woman.

borntobequiet · 06/04/2022 07:09

@Somanysocks

I look forward to see whether he decides to be 'tarty' woman or 'frumpy' woman.
That’s rather binary. Couldn’t he be farty or trumpy, or indeed any anagram of either? Surely it’s a spectrum like everything else?
