I mean, isn't that what Grace did?

candycane222 · 23/02/2022 10:16

Not you!!

candycane222 · 23/02/2022 10:17

Sorry, I thought thwre was a Lavery tweet about our head of state?

DomesticatedZombie · 23/02/2022 10:19

Grace said Grace hoped the Queen died.

candycane222 · 23/02/2022 10:24

Yes thanks Zombie. Apologies for walking and posting, I was too pared down, that's exactly what I was referring too. Had been trying to listen to the GL Heterodorx podcast and was maddened by the abstruse wordiness, I'll blame that....

DomesticatedZombie · 23/02/2022 10:26

I'm feeling quite pared down myself, lately.

candycane222 · 23/02/2022 10:29

zombie Grin

Helleofabore · 23/02/2022 10:32

Ah. Ok candy. I thought someone was wishing Lavery dead. I am very pleased that Lavery's mum seems to be well proud of her child by all accounts on twitter.

And I do wonder if Lavery's mum is also proud that Lavery wished the Queen death.

TheCurrywurstPrion · 23/02/2022 10:33

Do they mean the pictures Grace posted of Grace's husband with bite marks on their face? And Grace's fist in their mouth?

No idea. But why would any woman send anything to Lavery’s family? Are we meant to believe that all these women, who have been so keen to see a debate, and were already buying tickets, simultaneously want to stop Lavery speaking?

And yet there is a community who we are to understand were strongly against the debate going ahead. If anyone sent Lavery’s output to family members, it’s far more likely to have been from the side who are desperate to avoid debate.

The most likely scenario is that nothing of the sort occurrred and this is a convenient lie, an attempt to claim compassion for another is the reason for running away rather than the more likely second thoughts on performance. Any excuse to escape from having to face an intelligent woman.

But if it did occur, whatever the material, and regardless of the fact that if you are ashamed of your own actions, you probably shouldn’t put them in books or on the internet, it’s very unlikely a woman who supports women’s rights would seek to hurt someone’s mother. Much more likely a woman hater would see that as a reasonable means of attack.

yes, I didn't make it very far at all on that podcast.

Rightsraptor · 23/02/2022 10:43

There are Tweets from the very beginning of the Laverys marriage that are sexuslly explicit. Lavery gives a warning of this content and they include the fist-in-mouth one.

Anyone posting photos on the Internet of their intimate life really shouldn't complain if parents or whoever see them.

Tiphaine · 23/02/2022 12:18

So the six of us and our socks are now a 'juggernaut'? These people and their weird delusions are too silly for words.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 23/02/2022 12:33

A juggernaut? Grin I didn't put on that much weight over lockdown. What a flamin' cheek.

miri1985 · 23/02/2022 12:49

Lavery is offended at people sending sexually explicit things to Mother Lavery but I'm reading the recent book which is dedicated to Jane Lavery "the unusual woman who gave birth to me" and this is a quote from the first chapter:

"There are two ways to get Danny to open his mouth when he doesn’t want to. The first is to put my fingers over his nostrils so that he has to open his mouth to breathe. The other is to ask him a direct question that he won’t be able to resist answering. These tricks are useful because Danny sometimes likes to tighten up his mouth in a sexy little sulk, as though the game were to stuff one’s whole fist into his oral cavity without applying any pressure.

This time I went for the nose technique. When he gasped for air, I slipped the index and middle fingers of my right hand between his lips, and onto his tongue. He smiled, defeated. I curled up my ring and pinky fingers outside of his mouth, and then tucked them in too. Finally I placed my thumb in the middle of my hand, and placed my whole fist inside his mouth"

Why on earth would you dedicate content like that to your Mother if they do not want to see photos of the same

That quote from GL's book, WTF?? And also, WHY the AF??

Do whatever you wish with consenting adults within your own relationship, I guess, but to write so explicitly about that shows that Grace has boundaries that aren't necessarily aligned with safeguarding.

Why is anyone listening to advice and guidance about fundamental women's rights issues from someone who not only has this type of relationship with their spouse but happily and publicly writes about it, as though to normalise it?

ScreamingMeMe · 23/02/2022 13:03

@TheCurrywurstPrion

What woman send such pictures to Lavery’s mother? Sounds astonishingly unlikely.

The eternal crybully revealed.

Looks like someone did, yes.

That's a bit fucking creepy tbh and I don't agree with it at all.

Sorry, but Phyllis Schafly was described as a "realist" and "visionary" in a comment on this thread? And I see people praising that comment?

Just a little recap of things Phyllis Schafly believed:

  • She believed minors should be subject to the death penalty
  • She believed there was no such thing as "marital rape" and by marrying you consented to all sex with your husband, at any time he chose
  • She was strongly anti-abortion
  • She was strongly anti-gay rights and didn't think gay people should be teachers or parents
  • She believed that men were heads of households and wives were subserviant to their husbands
  • She thought that a gender pay gap was beneficial as it would force women into the framework of society she wanted (primarily as being housewives/mothers who were supported by higher-earning husbands)

Phyllis Schafly was an awful, awful person whose views and politicking were a net negative to American women. And yes, those views were absolutely misogynistic.

rabbitwoman · 23/02/2022 13:39

Not much to argue with there, monkey, but to clarify I was talking about Phyllis schafley as portrayed in miss America, which my email buddy and myself had discussed previously. Probably the fictional PS and the real PS are literally two different people.

The dramatised version did not mention the above and was much more sympathetic to her.

Gumbomambo · 23/02/2022 13:52

Sorry Candy I’m not sure what you mean? Please can you tell me who has publicly wished death on who? I haven’t seen this.

Gumbomambo · 23/02/2022 13:53

Oh fuck a duck. I hadn’t refreshed. Apologies.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 23/02/2022 13:57

the unusual woman who gave birth to me

Good grief. If one of my kids referred to me in that way I'd feel it like a punch in the gut.

What an absolute misogynist Lavery is.

Gumbomambo · 23/02/2022 15:37

Oh god have you seen the latest?

Don’t read it if you have a heart condition or are Helen Joyce, it’s pretty horrendous. I can only conclude they are trying to hoik up the book sales or they are having some kind of mental collapse. They’ve said Helen requested a “black shirt” to debate on a platform that was used by ultra right wingers and nazis. It’s utterly shocking.
