Lia Thomas (again)

Reports that Lia Thomas has been exposing themselves to female team mates and that they have complained and been ignored on multiple occasions...

"While Lia covers herself with a towel sometimes, there’s a decent amount of nudity, the swimmer said. She and others have had a glimpse at her private parts."

"She stated that team members have raised their concern with the coach, trying to get Thomas ousted from the female locker room, but got nowhere."

"Multiple swimmers have raised it, multiple different times,' the UPenn swimmer said. 'But we were basically told that we could not ostracize Lia by not having her in the locker room and that there's nothing we can do about it, that we basically have to roll over and accept it, or we cannot use our own locker room."

"It's really upsetting because Lia doesn't seem to care how it makes anyone else feel,' the swimmer continued. 'The 35 of us are just supposed to accept being uncomfortable in our own space and locker room for, like, the feelings of one."

@MenopauseSucks

The comment made by a team mate about Lia still having male body parts & still being attracted to women sounds like a discreet way of telling us that the girls have to put up with Lia's erections. Disgusting.
That’s exactly what I thought
barleybadminton · 28/01/2022 14:01

@Motorina

We have communal changing rooms at work. (NHS - scrubs). I know that our trainees find it awkward to see the ancient and wrinkly bosses like me in their undercrackers, and even more awkward to strip off around the boss, so I wait to go in til they’re done. It’s called consideration.

If I can do this, why can’t Lia?

Theres no suggestion in the piece that people are undressing in a communal space. It could well be private shower cubicles and private changing rooms and people us a twoel thilst passing between the two. I find it very hard to believe the Mail would have ommitted the detail that girls were expected to change in front of each other. In fact there is no information on what the facilities are like at all, a crucial piece f the pciture, presumably because the journalist didn;t bother to ask or more likely chose to omit the details because it undermined the narrative being pursued.

Honestly I never imagined the day when people who claim to be of the left would so uncritically swallow Daily Mail propaganda which doesn't even meet basic journalistic standards. It is deeply worrying and shows how easy it is to spread misinformation when it conforms to someone's existing prejudices.

Signalbox · 28/01/2022 14:02

Daily Mail technique of salting the earth in advance - no-one dare say anything in case they are accused of ... racism/sexism/transphobia (delete as appropriate). This is used to undermine anyone who might turn up claiming the story is untrue.

FFS, The progressive left already have shown that they will accuse women (Wi Spa and Loudoun County) of bigotry and not believe them when they say they have been assaulted or complain about predatory male behaviour in female spaces.

So it makes perfect sense that a group of female swimmers would be worried that they will be called bigots and not believed when they complain about a person with a penis in their changing room who is exposing their penis and making those women feel uncomfortable.

It is not about "salting the earth in advance" it is about learning from experience that this is how the "progressive" left behave when women make accusations about predatory males.

The idea that we should believe women is dead in circles where they cannot even define what a woman is.

You can expose yourself quite easily in that set up, @barleybadminton.

There was a thread on here recently of a woman who was flashed in a swimming pool changing room which was exactly as you describe.

I ask again, have you ever met any men? Do you not know plausible deniability has a frisson for some boring people?

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 28/01/2022 14:09

Plus, @Signalbox these are YOUNG women.

I'd be able to manage an uninvited erection in my vicinity, but my first rodeo was some time ago.

barleybadminton · 28/01/2022 14:10

Many trans women take the smallest amount of oestrogen which allows sexual function. If you are not ignorant about the basics of trans bodies then you must know this.

No they don't. Some trans women do monotherapy which involves taking very large amounts of estrogen to override the endocrine system without t-blockers and may maintain sexual function for a while though spontaneous erections are still unlikely. Most trans women do actually have some sexual function meaning they can experience sexual pleasure but let's just say ... it takes a while and full erections are unlikely.

Taking small amounts of estrogen wouldn't do anything, it certainly would be unlikely to cause any physical changes which is kind of the point. And if Lia is bouncing on and off t blockers then she is taking a very dangerous risk to herself, I find it highly unlikely she'd be doing that assuming she has decent medical care.

Needmoresleep · 28/01/2022 14:12

The Mail first picked up this story from American sites like SwimSwam. The fact that unhappy intelligent and educated American college students have now approached them, a foreign newspaper, directly, says a lot about their faith that the US media will report their concerns accurately.

Lia does not have this problem. What are the odds that Sports Illustrated will stick to the party line. I would love to know what thry are paying.

barleybadminton · 28/01/2022 14:12

But there's no evidence she deliberately exposed herself. It's not even what is claimed. You're just making things up.

MrBlobbyLivesNextDoor · 28/01/2022 14:14

Bull shit. Plenty of transwomen are able to get full erections.

Stop lying.

MrBlobbyLivesNextDoor · 28/01/2022 14:15

You're just making things up.

You're just making things up to suit your own narrative.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 28/01/2022 14:16

Jesus, @barleybadminton, you sweet, summer child.

Some trans women only want the experience of sticking on a patch. A bit of softer skin and an excuse to say they are transitioning which is sexually arousing to them and that is why they don't want to lose erectile function.

Yes, there are also people who take vats of oestrogen.

Neither scenario is what a GID would prescribe. There are many TW who transition without the care of a GID.

Artichokeleaves · 28/01/2022 14:16

So a male born person has every right to be in a female changing room, naked, because their feelings are more important than the feelings of every female person there. The male born person's right to be present is more valued and important than the right to consent of every female person there. The male born person's enjoyment and pride in their achievement in being there (against the will of and in the face of discomfort from their 'team mates' - not much team feeling really on the male person's part) is being flashed all over the press making very clear to the female people that they mean nothing and a male person can glory in their actions and personal need-meeting being successful, which cause females discomfort and problems. And females have been warned of consequences for resisting.

Someone tell me how those females are not being oppressed? And how this is not just straight up male supremacism?

This is a male, getting their needs met, by quite bluntly denying females getting their needs met. And being glad about this. I can't say I like the sound of this male much.

Oh you've seen a couple of reddit posts and decided you're an expert on trans healthcare have you lol. You wouldn't get softer skin. You wouldn't get anything except in very rare cases. It would be expensive and pointless.

And it's highly unlikely she isn't under medical supervision when she is trying to stay within the limits to compete as a woman. Frankly you're talking complete nonsense and seem to know very little about this.

Motorina · 28/01/2022 14:32

If it’s private cubicles then why is Lia’s dick out where people can see it?

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 28/01/2022 14:32

@barleybadminton oh, I know plenty.

The thing about MN is that you never know who is on here, but we know there are journalists, politicians, people who read reddit and maybe even someone who works at the Tavi.

Never got on with reddit myself. And the US you can buy any sort of care you like.

MrsWooster · 28/01/2022 14:35

Big hand (not in a transphobic way) to Barley for gamely accepting the short straw in the face of our nasty taunting.
Let us not forget the sterling service that Barkey et al offer to the lurkers who read and wonder…

Helleofabore · 28/01/2022 14:39

It does depend on just what the testing timetable is for Thomas, doesn't it. Is it just once for entry into the category at the start of the season. Is it before each and every competitive swim?

Please link us up with this information barely

Also, no. It isn't just reddit sites. It is the very many twitter images of males very enamoured with their penises while masturbating with the new breasts. It is the videos on porn sites where transitioned males masturbating on line, particularly in female toilets.

And who cares if this is a 'full erection'. What the actual fuck.

Why are we discussing penises and erections with barleyj? Same old, same old really isn't it. Some patterns don't actually change.

Again, why does this male have the right to expose any bit of their penis to females who do not wish to see it in an area where they are getting changed. AND we are told it is a communal changing area, that is how they saw it.

We are discussing it because several posters on here decided to invent claims she was walking round with an erection in direct contradiction to what the Daily Mail story says - with some going further and accusing her of being a sex offender. And that those lies have been allowed to stand makes any claim that this forum is not tranphobic completely laughable.
Artichokeleaves · 28/01/2022 14:46

We have someone with male anatomy in a position of greater power over those with female anatomy here - they are unhappy, uncomfortable, cannot refuse and are not allowed boundaries, may get into trouble if they voice their feelings or needs because they conflict with the TW's, and their only option is to lose access.

In this situation, it would seem that the person with male anatomy is not only quite enjoying their position of greater power and value, which is in itself concerning, but is also showing considerable lack of care or consideration for their female colleagues in sharing these facilities. At what point are females permitted to wonder if this person is enjoying their power? And if so, if this is a healthy or acceptable situation for all involved?

Unless of course we're saying that rights and entitlements come in a sex based hierarchy.

Helleofabore · 28/01/2022 14:47

And you have evidence that this is NOT the case. That there was NO erection?

And let's get back on track barely

Again, why does this male have the right to expose any bit of their penis to females who do not wish to see it in an area where they are getting changed.

No more sparple. No more 'look there is a squirrel!'.

barleybadminton · 28/01/2022 14:54

And you have evidence that this is NOT the case. That there was NO erection?

You do this a lot I've noted. You don't get to just make things up and demand people disprove it. That's not how things work because it's impossibe to disprove them - it's like asking someone to prove God doesn't exist. That's why when you make a claim the onus is on you to provide evidence for it, not just demand people disprove it.

ThatsWhenTheCannibalismStarted · 28/01/2022 14:59

I find the apologists tedious and irritating, but they do generate lots of engagement which helps these threads appear in 'trending'. This puts these stories in front of mumsnetters who don't usually frequent this board. So, thanks for that. Keep it up!

Signalbox · 28/01/2022 15:00

That's why when you make a claim the onus is on you to provide evidence for it, not just demand people disprove it.

What we do know for certain, is that the women who have reported that Lia has exposed themselves are uncomfortable sharing the female changing room with a person with a penis. It will be virtually impossible to ascertain Lia's motives but lets face it if Lia had any ounce of integrity (which we know Lia doesn't because they have already bulldozed their way into the women's swim team) they would find some other place to change where there would be no risk of them "accidentally" exposing themselves to women.

What a terrible world this is becoming. Young women forced to change/shower with a man sporting erections or lose their scholarships and people forced to be vaccinated or lose their job/freedom etc.

All of it being shoved down our throats by the far Left.
