Lia Thomas (again)

Reports that Lia Thomas has been exposing themselves to female team mates and that they have complained and been ignored on multiple occasions...

"While Lia covers herself with a towel sometimes, there’s a decent amount of nudity, the swimmer said. She and others have had a glimpse at her private parts."

"She stated that team members have raised their concern with the coach, trying to get Thomas ousted from the female locker room, but got nowhere."

"Multiple swimmers have raised it, multiple different times,' the UPenn swimmer said. 'But we were basically told that we could not ostracize Lia by not having her in the locker room and that there's nothing we can do about it, that we basically have to roll over and accept it, or we cannot use our own locker room."

"It's really upsetting because Lia doesn't seem to care how it makes anyone else feel,' the swimmer continued. 'The 35 of us are just supposed to accept being uncomfortable in our own space and locker room for, like, the feelings of one."

Honestly what a fuss about nothing! So what if a woman has a massive hard on in a changing room? It doesn't happen. And if it does, it wasn't a hard on and that was a woman so it doesn't count. Be kind, bitches.

AghghhhhhHHHHH

I'm going to have to stop reading these threads soon, because they make me so very angry. How can we have got to this place so quickly? I had a two work meetings today where time was taken up telling me it was fabulous that they'd just taken delivery of pronoun badges and I could put one on my lanyard. WTF? What happens if I don't wear one (I won't), will I lose my job? Probably. I'm an academic on a zero hours contract.

It's all utter utter gaslighting bullshit.

SwissBall · 27/01/2022 22:12

Ladies, do what Laurie Penny says and stop looking at her genitals, it’s rude.

BellatricksStrange · 27/01/2022 22:34

It's because we have allowed this to happen. And by 'we', I mainly mean people on the left, the activisty types.

We shouldn't be afraid to speak the truth for its own sake. Once a man always a man. Simple as that. You can't change your sex, and 'gender identity' is plain bollocks.

Version4needsabitofwork · 27/01/2022 22:43

"Gender Identity is Plain Bollocks"

Absolutely nailed it bellatricks. That needs to go on a T shirt immediately.

IvyTwines · 27/01/2022 22:45

I can understand why the girls on the team feel too scared to use their real names or go public, in the current climate, but how can audiences just sit there and passively watch this happen? It's like something out of Monty Python but nasty and cruel.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 27/01/2022 22:47

Am willing to bet that they have been tolerating erections for a while. Perhaps I'm a cynic, but I expect the behaviour is vigorous drying under a towel.

It always escalates.

Needmoresleep · 27/01/2022 23:12

Thats nice...Lia will be sharing her story exclusively with Sports Illustrated. $$$?

And the Mail picture editor has more fun. Scroll down for the Lia in a swimsuit shots. Not need to be in a locker room to be aware of the lady penis bulge

This just reminds me of the thread ages ago where the school went from saying to the girls who were uncomfortable with changing/showering with a male bodied person they had to then change elsewhere, to when all the girls chose this, they had to change/shower with the male bodied person or be labelled a bully, bigot and transphobic.

BreadInCaptivity · 27/01/2022 23:19

Ok let's be careful here.

We've no evidence at all about erections and to be honest if we did, whilst that would very disturbing, it's enough in and of itself that many of the female swimmers have had their discomfort in sharing a locker with a person with a penis dismissed/ignored by training staff and said person (who it seems is "careless" of hiding the evidence of their masculinity whilst demanding their validation as a female both socially and competitively).

It serves no useful purpose to make assumptions other than to play into TRA hands^^ in being able to say "it didn't happen".

What has been reported by a female member of the swim team doesn't need exaggerated speculation.

Women should be able to access single sex spaces and not be pressured to putting up with discomfort and distress so as to pacify/validate/be kind to a man, regardless of whether their penis is erect (or even on show) or not.

So Thomas is showing his dick to the girl swimmers.

That is not inclusive or diverse or in any way related to equality. It's the behaviour of a perverted man.

MichelleScarn · 27/01/2022 23:24

@BreadInCaptivity sorry but what do we need to be 'careful' about? Pissing off/hurting the TRAs?
They are pissed off by our mere existence and anything that's not utter capitulation to their more womanly womeness. Why do we have to watch what we say? They don't?

The body language in the group photo is interesting, too. The woman on Lia's right clearly wants the biggest air gap possible.

I wonder how long it will take for the usual ones to come along and demand that lesbian swimmers should not use female change rooms too - as they are also attracted to women….. Angry

ShinyHappyPoster · 27/01/2022 23:31

Considering the US is still feeling the effects of the college gymnastics scandal, you would think they'd be more aware.
Someone needs to sue the coach (who is telling the female swimmers they need to put up and shut up) and the university. Money is the only thing that matters more than brownie points.

SkiingIsHeaven · 27/01/2022 23:36

The rights and feelings of one person trump the rights and feelings of 35 women.

Well obviously you can post as you see fit.

However, there is a lot of effort put into these threads in debunking TRA exaggerations and lies by countering them with facts and evidence.

As the saying goes - remember the lurkers.

I see no point on providing Twitter screenshot folder "proving" transphobia or undermining our credibility with those questioning trans ideology because we are forming unsubstantiated conclusions.

I understand your reticence, however that still then leads to us policing our words and sharing out thoughts incase 'it's not liked' they won't like anything said here, and absolutely won't police what they say and do because it may upset anyone else.

I genuinely don't care if my GC views are liked or not.

I'm not posting to the TRA audience.

Quite the reverse and because I don't want my language to be policed I'm as "careful" as I can be in presenting the facts (though I admit to having 🤯 moments myself).

We use the phrase "sunlight is the best disinfectant " a lot here and it's right.

There's no worth standing in the sunlight whilst doing a rain dance.

The interesting thing about the entire Lia Thomas affair is the difference in behaviour between a male to female transitioned person and another swimmer, Iszac Henig, a female to male transitioning person.

All the quotes about Iszac stress that Iszac is postponing physical transition so as to continue a swimming career - against women, of course. I bet Iszac is also still using the women's changing rooms.

It's seen as perfectly acceptable for Iszac to do this - so why on earth, if swimming is so important to Lia, can't we suggest that Lia postpone transition until after completing a swimming career?

Well we all know the answer to that don't we? But saying so is deemed transphobic Angry

Exactly 👏

Iamthedom · 28/01/2022 02:29

until Lia can shit a baby out of her ass then Lia a man
And as that ain’t never going to happen - Lia will always be a man

WeAreNotBowlingWithApples · 28/01/2022 05:48

People suggesting the girls on the team should just refuse to change with Lia present or go home as a sort of protest should remember that many of those girls will probably have scholarships based on them being a part of the swimming team... they can't just quit, or risk being kicked off the team because they'll lose their college funding.

It's part of why they're speaking up anonymously, even a partial scholarship is a LOT to lose when education costs as much as it does.
