So what are we up to?

I've lost track.

So far some or all of us are (in no order):

  • receiving illicit funds from fundamentalists in the US
  • handing out lesbian wives (timeshare? Full-time?)
  • turning the UK into T*rf Island
  • taking over both Twitter and Mumsnet despite there being only six of us
  • brigading online surveys
  • creating fear through the use of stickers and/or ribbons
  • creating anger through the use of hoodies and billboards
  • all elderly
  • all middle aged
  • all middle-class
  • all "Karens"
  • but there's only six of us

I've missed loads, does anyone want to add some more? I feel we should keep a list going.

I’ve always found PC Gul’s name rather unfortunate (please see attached image*), given the whole situation.

Which is a reminder that we Use Our Words - & actually do do research (& do so carefully) so are well-informed. There is a propensity in FWR for using the words of others in the best of ways, too, whether serious, silly or sentimental. What’s that about when we could just SHOUT THREATS AND INSULTS & post images with threats of (specific) violence towards other posters? We also keep answering questions & giving FACTS when everyone knows you have to tell people to Educate Themselves.

  • For anyone who uses a screenreader, the image is a screenshot from the Collins dictionary of the (archaic) definition of gull that as a noun means someone who is easily fooled or cheated & as a verb means to fool cheat or hoax. C16 word, perhaps from dialect gull meaning unfledged bird; probably from gul derived from Old Norse gulr, meaning yellow.

(Also, how doesn’t MN have Alt-Text when you upload images?)

So what are we up to?
Grumpyosaurus · 16/01/2022 23:15

If there are only six of us, I must have a lot of sock puppets that I know nothing about.

Or, possibly, I am a sock puppet, like some sort of NPC.

It's keeping me awake. Am I an NPC? A sock-puppet-mistress unaware of her powers? A wingnut? In the pay of the religious right?

Snugglepumpkin · 16/01/2022 23:26

I'm pretty sure I am the sock puppet of someones dark side.

Just have to figure out who but I'm pretty sure it's one of those Terfy Dinosaur people who hoard things.

I don't seem to be able to open my mouth without offending anyone.

BettyFilous · 16/01/2022 23:32

@stinkycheeseman Please, please tell me you are fan of the children’s picture book, the most anarchic, meta children’s book I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. 🙏

OhLordyWhatNow · 16/01/2022 23:33

I'm envisioning sock puppets made from Argyle socks with googly eyes and a red felt forked tongue to truly reflect what everyone knows... Mumsnet is a nest of vipers.

Agrona · 17/01/2022 07:19

Aren't we all old/aging strawmen/women wearing dog whistles on a chain of pearls? And an apron?

(I am currently wearing Crocs but no socks as it is summer here).

TheWeeDonkey · 17/01/2022 07:37

We for me personally. Im a dried up old hag who is both obsessed with sex and other people's genitals and a frigid prude. Take your pick. I want children to die by not making life changing decisions before they are of an age where they understand the implications of their decisions.

I'm a middle class white feminist even though I'm not white or middle class and although I'm "just the same" as transwomen I'm overcome with jealousy at their superior femininity

Or am I???

ArabellaScott · 17/01/2022 09:07

There's a lot of fucking feet in these socks, is all I'm saying. More feet than you'd expect in a nest of vipers.

NitroNine · 17/01/2022 10:07

Are we in fact lizards who self-ID as vipers? TBH I’d rather be a lizard. Lots of lizards look a bit dinosaury too.

Skinks in socks? Probably blue-tongued skinks, given i. how sweary things get & ii. that when I went to find a skink picture for those who’ve sadly never met one, first of illustrations (decided better not to use a real pic as lizards make some people feel a bit funny-peculiar) was witch!skink Hmm

So what are we up to?
So what are we up to?
ArabellaScott · 17/01/2022 10:15

Dinosaurs in flowery drawers?
Skinks in spanx?
T-Rexes in specs?
Diplodocuses in varifocalsus?

prudencepuffin · 17/01/2022 10:17

Dinosaurs, witches and sock puppets who dont believe that all prostitutes (am I allowed that word?), live a well salaried, freely chosen and pleasant existence.
And think that people running the girl guides probably shouldnt pose with guns on their FB or Instagram accounts.

ArabellaScott · 17/01/2022 10:24

Ooh, witches in britches.

TheABC · 17/01/2022 11:33

These days I self-identify as a dragon.

And the verb 'to gull' is the origin of the adjective 'gullible'.

dragons with flagons.

(sorry, I can't seem to stop.)

socks with lovely frilly frocks.

OhLordyWhatNow · 17/01/2022 11:58

Mock socks in frocks?

Enough4me · 17/01/2022 11:58

@NitroNine I have had a message deleted, but doubt it was for mentioning witches. So is witch completely out as a term against the 6 now?
I can get off the ducking stool!

littlbrowndog · 17/01/2022 12:32

Twitter user now says TERFS are really bad racists and maggots

Not sure what a really good racist is 🤷‍♀️

littlbrowndog · 17/01/2022 12:33

And that was from an adult woman

Artichokeleaves · 17/01/2022 13:04

I like socks in frocks.

However am wearing trousers, a jumper that I bought from the men's department and unisex socks, so other than a deeply held and sincere inner belief that I only have a biological sex and can dress/do/like/be anything I choose or happen to be in the mood for while still being that sex.....

I have nothing to justify being a proper sock. It's a problem.

Artichokeleaves · 17/01/2022 13:05

Maggots. Grin

Cue all the songs from Matilda......

NitroNine · 17/01/2022 13:26

@Enough4me
See my post upthread re: No Witching Allowed…

@littlbrowndog
I mean, we do seem to be really bad racists. As in, really useless at being racist & doubtlessly maggoty for refusing to agree with the enormously racist assertion that blank women are essentially the same as men (or sometimes the other way round). Maggoty maggots for pointing out it is not simply a nonsense argument, it is racist nonsense. (Of course, Miss Trunchbull called the children in her care “maggots” & treated them badly because they were so much smaller & weaker & she was in a position of power & privilege. However, “even if you’re little you can do a lot” - including revolting…)

@Artichokeleaves
Quite tricky to dress sock-puppets in bifurcated garments… Hmm I declare that you are not a sock and I claim my five pounds!

Alekto · 17/01/2022 13:34

We're "manufactured" now!

On some sort of sock production line maybe?

You're not going to get a sensible or unbiased answer here I'm afraid - Enjoy the manufactured echo chamber.

OhLordyWhatNow · 17/01/2022 13:43

Is it the production line like that old Shreddies advert where the Nanna's are knitting?

Are new mumsnetters being replicated in yarn by mumsnetters from the beginning (of Mumsnet) time? We're all just woolly clones of the originals?

Wow!
