He's going in!

Here's his complaint in response to a tweet from the South West branch of the LGBTQ Police Network.

I'll add the tweet if I can find it.

Fair Cop Harry: ' police are making threats against Mumsnet. We are on the case.'

I’m horrified, will this persecution of women never end.

"Anti-trans radicalisation and lobbying platform"??

Jesus H Christ.

OldCrone · 15/01/2022 09:10

It's South Wales not South West, but I see from the twitter link on the other thread that he has sent it to the right group.

ArabellaScott · 15/01/2022 09:11

Thank you to Harry and all the people holding the police to account. This is absolutely ridiculous behaviour from the police.

MrBIobby · 15/01/2022 09:11

Thank you Harry, and op. I am sick of this police overeach on the say so of people like mimmymum using them to deliver what she thinks is justice. She's not a good face of Mermaids is she. And the police actions are disgusting.

yourhairiswinterfire · 15/01/2022 09:13

How are we supposed to respect the police or have any confidence in them when police forces are acting like personal henchmen for immature adults who can't handle people on the internet having a different opinion to them?

Before, it was the threat of having a 'non crime hate incident' against your name. Now threats of ''monitoring teams'', I assume to try and scare posters.

I'm glad Fair Cop are on to them, this is disgraceful.

I did a big long post…

But this basically

ArabellaScott · 15/01/2022 09:17

' Justice Secretary Robert Buckland has apologised to rape victims for low conviction rates in England and Wales.

Over the past five years, cases reported to police - and initially recorded as rape - have risen sharply.

However, the proportion making it to court (prosecutions) in that time has more than halved.'

AmandaHoldensLips · 15/01/2022 09:18

But in all fairness, adorning one's uniform with rainbows and bullying women is so much easier than catching crims, right?

poorbuthappy · 15/01/2022 09:23

Just completed it. Using my home postcode as I actually live there! I await the knock on my door. 😬😁😁

MrBIobby · 15/01/2022 09:26

According to that police account The survey is open to anyone whether you are part of the community, an ally or just willing to share your thoughts

Are they not interested in the views of those who are pro women then? Do they need to be monitored and excluded in case they step out of line? Is this not confidential anymore then? Are we the wrong sort of community member, ally, or someone willing to share their thoughts? How very hateful and intolerant.

yourhairiswinterfire · 15/01/2022 09:26

Hmmm.

South Wales Police
Good morning, our reply appears to have been taken out of context. To clarify, we monitor our own accounts and reserve the right to delete offensive comments. We do not monitor accounts which aren’t owned by South Wales Police

However, should concerns be raised to us about content on another platform which may be deemed as hate speeech or malicious communications, this will be referred to our control room in the same way as any other incident / crime report

For anyone who missed it at the time, mimmymum is Helen Islan, a former employee of Mermaids, who took Miranda Yardley (a transsexual) to court over alleged transphobic harassment (and lost). Islan is not trans.

Totally agree with this.

'we police by consent and should be trusted to the ends of the earth by all our communities'

Women apparently not counted as part of those communities, then.

That's shocking. Blatant transphobia from a woman who seemingly is the face of a trans organisation. Targeting a transwoman for alleged transphobia? The irony. Its not Mumsnet who needs monitoring is it...

Clearly not. I dont trust them.
bishophaha · 15/01/2022 09:43

Glad to see that an organisation in the news for its members killing women has finally got its priorities in place and is spending time "monitoring" posts on Mumsnet.

Hey police: my sibling shouldn't need to surgically remove their breasts to be a man.

A sex and a gender cannot "match" or "not match" each other as they describe completely separate things.

Do your monitors allow me to say this or not?

JayAlfredPrufrock · 15/01/2022 09:46

Every day’s a school day.

Gosh yes, heaven forbid women should be concerned about policies that might jeopardize their safety. Better to monitor those women instead. Get team of police in action to watch them in case of wrong think. That will silence them right?
