He's going in!

Here's his complaint in response to a tweet from the South West branch of the LGBTQ Police Network.

I'll add the tweet if I can find it.

@Lordamighty

Happy for the police to investigate this.
Exactly.

Are they going to arrest every biology teacher and tutor and lecturer across the world?
Are they going to declare physiology and anatomy and genetics books as "hate" propaganda?
Are they going to get the school curriculum changed to teach their preferred version of biology?

Total bollocks.
Whoops, I just committed a thought crime.
Better hand myself in.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 17/01/2022 16:26

Fuck me I am SO sick of this shit.

The other day I idly wondered what it would be like if the SWCBN thing happened now...imagine! (I realise that was totally unrelated to the subject matter at hand, but still)

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 17/01/2022 16:30

In fact I just went looking for a link for people who weren't around then (I cannot fucking believe it was 2006!!!) and it's actually very interesting in the light of everything going on these days.

RepentMotherfucker · 17/01/2022 17:06

Oh god there's such a funny quote from an MN user in that article that I can't possibly post here because SCBN. But lawyers actually took that seriously!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 17/01/2022 17:12

I know. I mean that's one hell of a sense of humour failure on someone's part Grin

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 17/01/2022 17:18

I love this from Justine though Grin

"The mothers are in revolt because they view this as a huge attack on their freedom of speech."

I'm too attached to my usual name to change it permanently though Wink

ScreamingMeMe · 17/01/2022 17:48

To whom can I report that the survey was posted to twitter, a site heavily populated by aggressive TRAs and where misogyny goes virtually unchecked?

RVN123 · 17/01/2022 20:00

It is DOCUMENTED on Twitter that TRAs make ACTUAL threats against people, threatening rape, murder, harassment etc.

Where are the police then?
I have NEVER ONCE seen a threat against any trans people on this forum. Not once.

Come on Police spies, get your act together.
BTW, sex is binary, men cannot be women and I believe in biology.

In related news, the College of Policing are not appealing.

That's interesting, @Awkwardy. I really thought they would.

[quote OldCrone]For anyone who missed it at the time, mimmymum is Helen Islan, a former employee of Mermaids, who took Miranda Yardley (a transsexual) to court over alleged transphobic harassment (and lost). Islan is not trans.

Thank you - I have spend an interesting time this evening looking at some of her(?) posts on Twitter. Wow that level of hatred and ignorance combined is quite stunning.

Sophoclesthefox · 20/01/2022 09:23

I missed this thread earlier but what an interesting read.

Just amazed that cheesecake wasn’t able to find all this rampant transphobia! So surprised!

Of course it’s probably because…

  • It’s not what you said, it’s how you said it
  • I know what you said, but I know what you really meant
  • it’s not any one thing it’s everything together

Imagine having such a tragic life that you spent your limited time being alive on this earth scouring the Internet for people who disagree with you and snitching on them. Cringe.

Datun · 20/01/2022 09:48

Interesting comment from that 15-year-old article.

Mark Stephens, the website's lawyer, said he feared the possibility that "economic muscle" would be used to "prevent debate".

Fimofriend · 22/01/2022 11:38

It is interesting that the police have time to threaten women who say that transwomen are men but they don't have time to investigate it when men, including trans-identified men, threaten women with rape, murder, doxxing, or burning down their houses. Especially since it is not illegal to say that transwomen are men but it is illegal to threaten someone with bodily harm.
