www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10382291/Did-Hertfordshire-Police-force-break-uniform-code-transgender-trailblazer.html

One rule for women and another for transgender women.

Having long green nails and heavy makeup, breaches Hertfordshire Police Forces uniform policy, unless of course you're trans! Then you can do what you like to "feel like a woman".

And if you look at the female officers who have their photos released on the same twitter account, no finger nails being shown.

But no heavy make up and nothing but neutral colours worn on lips or anywhere on the face.

So, please show us other officers in the same force that have been able to bend the rules to suit their desire to wear more makeup and not neutral colours. Please do link up where females get to bend the rules.

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 16:14

Spend two seconds on twitter, you can find countless pictures of non-trans women police officers wearing make-up and nail polish

Link them up please. Same force, females with non-neutral colours, long nails and heavy eyeliner. Or as the mail reported- including scarlet.

I look forward to you showing us up.

Hertsfordshire police in case you need a reminder.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 16:22

Fatfucker messages and tweets aren't the same thing.
I read that as hundreds of messages (could be a mix of direct messages, emails and letters Anne Robinson Points of View style.
Then the tweets on Twitter.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 16:23

Why same force? What's that got to do with anything?

Because that keeps ‘all other things equal’. I mean, each force should have similar or same dress code, but I am not prepared to visit each force to check theirs.

Or do you think it appropriate to introduce us to females from another force which may have a different tolerance of application of the dress code to that force.

I don't know how people who are trans put up with this kind of shit and scrutiny, honestly.
Having to second guess your every move because somebody, somewhere is ready to pick apart your actions and appearance just for being yourself.
'' Must remember not to show my hands in case someone doesn't like my polish ''
'' better tone down my lipstick in case someone thinks it's too bright. ''
As has been pointed out, there are other tweets of women all wearing make up.
None look bare faced.
Now its link to the exact same force, are they wearing the same type of colour? Etc etc etc etc
Why? As you just know that they won't count as their lipstick is pink instead of red or whatever.
Anyone can go look for themselves if they want to, they're not hidden away.

TInkyWlnky · 09/01/2022 16:31

I guess the woman face make up is required otherwise that officer couldn't signify to the world that they are a woman. After all, they don't have any other of the attributes of being one, as they are a male. So the only thing they can do is resort to stereotyping what a woman is. And yes it is double standards. Women don't need to wear makeup to show their biological reality. It's obvious they are women.

This person's biological reality shows clearly that they are a biological male. So to address this self percieved significant problem, this officer feels they need to wear make up to demonstrate to other people that being a woman is what they would like their biological reality to be and how they think they should be treated.

Maybe a hat, with the word woman written on it would suffice instead. So that people would know they are speaking to someone who is a man who wants to be a woman.

Would that work?

Ok you're right! I'll give them them the benefit of the doubt! But would still love to see the deleted tweet!!

No. Must conform to the rules conditions of my employment, like everyone else doing the job.

Yep. This would work.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 16:38

Ah, Ok.
Well just a quick look at Hert police twitter account you don't have to scroll far at all see pics of other women officers being shown.
The first one I saw was someone looking like they're heavily tanned and like the fake tan bottle a lot or foundation.
Is anyone commenting on her appearance (apart from me now obviously which feels a Hmm thing to do.
Why aren't they?
Can anyone think why that may be?
Or is it just saved for what make up a trans woman is wearing?

VestofAbsurdity · 09/01/2022 16:38

The force's Dress And Equipment Code And Standards Policy states: 'Individuals should keep make-up discreet or in connection with your religion/faith. Individuals in operational roles must ensure nails are kept short and any nail varnish must be neutral in colour

Once again NoNotMeNoSiree and BlueberryCheezecake above is the Force Policy, why is Cherry allowed to flout the Dress Code when other officers are not? That is the issue.

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 09/01/2022 16:39

@bhdsjhbs

Oh for heaven's sake. What is this brand of 'feminism' that GC feminists claim to champion that shames women for wearing make up? Cherry is one of several special officers (volunteers by the way) photographed wearing make-up and nail polish. The only thing different about her is that she's trans.
So why the dress code exemption?

That is the ONLY question being asked.

Last week we had a local hero, policewoman who had gone above and beyond for a vulnerable man.

Her award ceremony featured her front and centre. No visible make up, no nail varnish, all as per regulations.

What was the difference?

bordermidgebite · 09/01/2022 16:40

Women have spent centuries having their appearance policed. Too much make up, too little , too short to tight too long too baggy too fat too muscular

Having finally got to a place where women can take the same effort as men on their appearance, along comes a transwomen demanding rights to wear make up in places it's not normally worn in order to appear more female , thus pushing the well groomed woman narrative back up the agenda

Thanks for nothing

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 16:40

Why same force? What's that got to do with anything?

To be clear, when describing a situation of unequal policy application within one regional force, it is not appropriate, or even relevant, to compare a different force’s boundaries of applying dress code.

And this is about the double standard, regardless of all the emotionally manipulative posts that you post to try to twist this any other way.

Are you resorting to making the same error that Jane Fay about judging who has a natural tan and who does not? Shall we post Fay seeking to shame a woman for her own skin tone?

So… any that have non-neutral colour red make up?

You attempts at twisting this is quite easy to see.

I've just had a look at Herts Police Twitter account and I cannot see what you see, can you link the picture or which account you looked at.

All the pictures on the one I looked at showed women police officers with minimal make up, short fingernails and no visible nail polish.

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 16:45

Coloured makeup. Not red… although, that would be great to see the scarlet red make up photo

The official Herts twitter police one.
It wasn't posted that long ago so it's hardly hard to find.

allmywhat · 09/01/2022 16:52

I looked at Herts police twitter too. It really seems like this quote is breathtakingly racist.

I hope I’m wrong and this person meant some other picture.

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 16:53

And again.

So what? A person has a tan that YOU consider fake, but may be the result of that woman’s skin tone naturally or in the sun.

Is there a policy on tans? Who is the arbiter of what is natural and what is not?

This is a squirrel of an argument. Completely irrelevant.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 16:53

Oh come on, you can tell what's make up and what's natural skin tone!
God this conversation is fucking horrible, it's policing women's looks and its sick.
