www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10382291/Did-Hertfordshire-Police-force-break-uniform-code-transgender-trailblazer.html

One rule for women and another for transgender women.

Having long green nails and heavy makeup, breaches Hertfordshire Police Forces uniform policy, unless of course you're trans! Then you can do what you like to "feel like a woman".

You what now?

Just googled never heard of it!

Star Trek deep love since OS BBC2 after kids TV in... Early 80s?

Any good?

Where can I watch????!!!

OhLordyWhatNow · 11/01/2022 02:02

@IamAporcupine

Yesss - Star Trek: Odissey has started! Grin

(I should go to bed, but I do not want to now. I am a Biologist and work in Medical Genetics...)

Oh boy, you're either going to love that thread or spontaneously combust due to frustration.

OhLordyWhatNow · 11/01/2022 02:03

Though to be fair the science fiction was extraordinary

CheeseMmmm · 11/01/2022 02:55

I had a bit of a nose 5 pages or so.

Some posters just Shock.

Female without womb ovaries etc because surgery.

Body will adjust to new situation and gradually become neither male nor female but in the middle... Neutral???

And therefore not female any more!

And that if women who have had various surgeries mean that kind of situation find it upsetting/crass/utterly shitty to indicate they aren't women...

Then they know how TW feel about not having uterus etc?

I have genuinely no idea whether it's-

  • Deliberate bastardry.
  • So focused on themselves/their 'side' forget other people even women are actual real people (internet awful for this).
  • Just give zero fucks about impact of any possible impact of any of this on anyone who is not one of their group?
  • Don't understand haven't thought through words what implies etc just churn them out and no interest in anything replied by anyone and even if so read too biased lazy or simply not able to follow what said.

I mean FFS.

If a man has penis testicles amputated for eg cancer, or due to terrible injury.
No longer male? Placed in middle of male/female with the women had loads surgery remove reproductive organs?
Both together in middle as a group that's been.. desexed? Neutered? A third human sex no one mentions partly because they have no words for themselves?

And this is definitely the sort of stuff that proves that humans 8 billion people male female bodies? That we're not mammals that was always wrong?!!!!

Incidentally women over menopause are seen as not women but something else, by many men subconsciously, and by hopefully small group consciously.

This is why the invisibility thing. Also the what are they even for thing, getting in the way, popping up on telly etc.

I love posts that invoke the Star Trek method of miraculous sex change of every cell.

But we were assured it wasn’t a Star Trek dream. It was real and only a ‘few years’ away!!!

It was like a complete disconnect that the same ethics that did not allow embryos to be used in experiments past 14 days would apply to a male with a uterine implant and no way for that male body to self regulate a pregnancy.

It makes me wonder just what they have been reading and who is spreading such deeply troubling views that completely ignore the rights of the embryo not to be experimented on in this way.

OhLordyWhatNow · 11/01/2022 10:25

To parody Star Wars:

The male entitlement was strong on that one.

ikeairgin · 12/01/2022 21:46

@Helleofabore

I have heard the many many tales of it.

When I say tales, I mean sitting and listening to the accounts from victims, and from witnesses. I am NOT implying 'tales' is in any way storytelling such as embellishing or anything such as that.

Thanks for clarifying that. It's important
Helleofabore · 12/01/2022 22:00

I realised after I pressed send that I typed tales when I meant stories. But even ‘stories’ didn’t convey the pain and horror of the accounts I have listened too.

Musomama1 · 12/01/2022 22:03

Reading the original OP post, I'm new to this but have recently been reading all the JK Rowling slamming and have gotten rather het up.

It's basically old-as-time male entitlement, now wearing a skirt.

'I am a woman because I think so' ...I tell you an actual woman would just not paint their bloody nails.

You know, I've never been a bigot, or phobic of anyone so it's really uncomfortable posting things like this, but I care much more about women's rights and I'm uncomfortable with some of the language used to call (mainly) women in new perjorative terms, ie cisgender, and terf, I'm not a 'radical' feminist?!

OhLordyWhatNow · 12/01/2022 22:08

Musomama1

Welcome to the fray. Maddening isn't it.

CheeseMmmm · 12/01/2022 22:24

She's loathed because she has a set of characteristics that are ones high up on pissing loads of men off-

  • V famous, history of being honest charitable genuine. Squillions of people love her because of her creations. That means much harder to reduce popularity.
  • Fantastically successful purely from own efforts properly from v little to this and and on her sole efforts (so can't say husband or family money, nepotism, stealing work of others, got there by some kind of unethical behaviour, favouritism...(Shagging way to top is still vv commonly implied).
  • Vvv wealthy means harder/impossible to 'cancel', lose work by loads complaints etc.
  • She says what she wants and worst of all she is not interested in appeasing men, hinting at views apologetically as women should, and of course has massive audience.
  • Everyone bar a v small number of people know she's right. Even if they pretend they don't. That's unsettling and can't she just STFU to stop making those who don't like hearing it feel at some level a bit uncomfy.
-she's eloquent (obv!), the points she makes expressed in simple easy to understand way (not jargony to the point of impenetrable).
  • she's middle aged.
  • she's got an open history of caring about various issues and actively supporting them, including women's issues. Says yep I'm a feminist.
  • more?
CheeseMmmm · 12/01/2022 22:41

A huge majority men in population generally can't bear women who have even 1 or 2 of these things.

It makes them resentful.

Challenges the hierarchy, challenges the men > female power structure.

It's threatening that someone outside that group is in this position when just shouldn't be, couldn't be. As there's only one group who are capable of, and deserve success etc. It's pretty much violating the natural order of things.

AND she's one of THOSE sorts of women. A FEMINIST.

And that's men in general, most of whom have zero interest in this particular topic. (But may enjoy the opportunity to send abuse).

Musomama1 · 13/01/2022 15:35

Thank you OhLordyWhatNow, clearly I've been living under a rock.

CheeseMmmm yes you're right, she's posing a major threat for those reasons. On Facebook I've seen lots of male comments supporting her, but they seem to be of the older generation. It's the internet dwelling teens / 20 somethings plus the heft of the media that are exploding.

You know, I'm a green party voting, vegan, woke, passionate gay rights supporter. But I will vote for the conservatives if this mysoginist agenda keeps getting pushed because above all I'm a woman and a feminist. And any inroads for trans women is corrosive to women's rights. We need a third definition because some dickhead is not going to tell me he's a woman because he thinks he is.

Let's hope JK has some friends in high places.

CheeseMmmm · 13/01/2022 23:52

Oooh I'd stay away from politics or thread will be spectacularly derailed.

(I can't vote for any of the 4 main ones. Will prob go for random no chance party left vote.
I wish we still had monster raving although if natural law were up I'd go for them for sure 😁)
